These 2017 Bowman Baseball Superfractors Aren’t in Packs Anymore
By Ryan Cracknell | Hobby Editor
By their nature, Superfractors can have a “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” moment. Being one-of-a-kind, you’re not going to see them often. Many are also swallowed up directly into personal collections where they rarely change hands. When it comes to baseball prospects, a first autographed Superfractor can become the card. Of the thousands of different cards a player can receive over their career, it’s the one many collectors consider to be the best of the best.
The Superfractors in 2017 Bowman Baseball include a mix of Prospects, Prospect Autographs and several other inserts. Blake Rutherford, Nick Senzel and Eloy Jimenez are among the big-name Chrome Prospect Autograph Superfractors in the product.
If you’re wondering which of the 2017 Bowman Superfractors have been pulled and what they’ve sold for, we’re compiling a list and will be updating it in the weeks ahead as more surface.

how do you tell if its a superfractor
They’re numbered 1/1 on the back. On the front, the background has gold spiral circles.
I have never pulled a superfractor, never bought a superfractor, and have never pursued a superfractor…but sure would be nice to have the money in my pocket for just one sale!
I have the Elniery Garcia auto super.
I got a very nice Superfractor out of a 2014 Bowman Platinum Baseball, it was a Mike Trout Bowman is back non-auto. I sold it to buy my Wife’s wedding ring.
Is there somewhere to look up what’s been pulled from previous years?
We tracked last year’s 2016 Bowman for a while: http://www.beckett.com/news/2016-bowman-baseball-superfractor-tracker/
By now, it’d probably be safe to assume most have been pulled. Some still might be out there in packs, but not a lot.
Adding how much $ it went for is kind of strange to do given how much pricing for these can be manipulated.
For instance, I can make the next superfractor go for $1234.56 if I want to, making it seem like it’s a highly sought after card, even when the next ‘legitimate’ bid could only be $49.99.
With that said, I prefer rookie superfractor autos over pre-rookie superfractor autos :)
The sales prices should be taken with a grain of salt, hence the disclaimer. Also, if a card has been “sold” but relisted by the same seller, the original sales price is being removed as that’s a sign it wasn’t originally completed. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s the best one can do.
With respect, I agree it’s not a perfect system, but it’s not the best one can do: It makes more sense to indicate next to the super’s selling price how many more times the selling price was than it’s base card version.
I’ve had the luck of pulling 1 superfractor auto, of Mark Appel. Sold it right away for 4800 cash
I have the 2017 Bowman Platinum cuts auto Superfractor of Cody Bellinger. His first auto super to emerge and its die cut! They only made 25 base, 10 black, and 1 gold foil(superfractor) versions of this card. EXTREMELY RARE! His 2015 Bowman Chrome draft auto super is the only other auto super before this, not found yet. Any ideas of value? I was hoping it would be in the same realm as say a super first like Strasburg, Trout, Harper, Bryant!?
@Troy Congrats! Great, great card that I’m guessing will fetch a lot but it’s not in the same realm as a first Bowman Chrome Superfractor. Platinum doesn’t have nearly the same following as Platinum. Also, this is an insert. Plus, Bellinger has his first Bowman Chrome Superfractor autograph from a few years ago.
Today I pulled the Ryan Healy 1/1 Superfractor out of the last pack of bowman platinum from Meijer. The code on the back is 022690.
Anyone have any information about the whereabouts of the 2017 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autograph Superfractor of Taylor Clarke?
It’s a long shot but I’m trying to track down either the auto or non-auto version of my 1st bowman superfractor from 2017 bowman. I saw on this tracker that the non-auto version sold on eBay a few years ago but haven’t been able to find it. My name is PJ Conlon, I’m easy to find on twitter. Played for the Mets from 2015-2019. Let me know if anything can help. Thanks!
