2015 Topps MLB Collection ’52 Tribute Call-Up Series makes big cards of big rookies
By Ryan Cracknell | Hobby Editor
Topps has used their 1952 design throughout the baseball season to create a large collection of online-exclusive prints and over-sized cards. 2015 Topps MLB Collection ’52 Tribute Call-Up Series brings the iconic look back one more time. Featuring 30 players, all are rookies. Most made their debuts in the latter part of the year and won’t have their base set rookie cards until 2016.
A total of 30 players are in the release. Carlos Correa, Corey Seager, Miguel Sano and Matt Duffy are among the notable names. Kris Bryant was part of an earlier release for the line.
Like a lot of online exclusives, there are several options. For the prints, they measure 10″ by 14″ and are printed on glossy card stock. Basic versions, which cost $29.99 each, are numbered to 99. One-of-one Gold versions range from $99.99 to $199.99 depending on the player.
Sets are also available. These measure 5″ by 7″ and are more like jumbo cards than wall art. The more plentiful regular version is numbered to 99 and costs $59.99 on Topps’ website. The Gold version of the set is limited to 49 copies and costs $124.99.
