First look: 2013 Upper Deck Exquisite Football

By Susan Lulgjuraj | Beckett Football Editor

Upper Deck’s 2013 Exquisite football will feature some of the newest NFL prospects.

Each box of 2013 Exquisite will have five autographs including a Rookie Autograph Patch Card and a 2014 Rookie Autograph. Signers for the 2014 autographs include Johnny Manziel, Sammy Watkins, Blake Bortles, Teddy Bridgewater, Mike Evans and others.

The other three autographs could come from one of the following subsets: Rare Materials Signatures (numbered to 5), Limited Logos (numbered to 10), Rookie Book Marks (numbered to 60) Ensemble Dual & Triple Signatures (numbered to 15 or less), Art Signatures (numbered to 10), Dimensions (numbered to 25), Black Rookie Lustrous Autos (numbered to 75 or less), or Black Legendary Lustrous Autos (numbered to 10 or less)

Some of the highlights from Exquisite include new hand-painted Triptych Signature Cards tri-panel booklet cards. These cards seem to be similar to the art cards that were created in Goodwin Champions. These will be just three copies per subject.

There will be one base card in every box, numbered to just 70 copies each.

None of the cards looked to be numbered higher than 125 copies in 2013 Exquisite Football.

Exquisite football is set to release in mid-June.

The cards look good, but I wonder what the corners and edges will look like after they are pulled out of the packaging. Will they mostly be damaged or not? Why can’t these companies spend a little more money and protect the cards in top loaders or hard cases. $500 a box I think they could do better at protecting the cards. But I must be the minority in that way of thinking because I never hear anyone else complaining about it. Heck even leaf knows how to package better than the big card companies.
