I bet a lot more people will like Stanton if/when he gets traded to a contending team, because what he’s doing with what he’s got around him is much more amazing than the rest of the guys on that list. I’m not buying into the Tanaka phenomenon until I see how he pitches the 2nd half of the season when it becomes more apparent how he fares against teams he pitches against multiple times. There’s not much info on Topps Dynasty yet from what I can see, but it seems to mostly appeal to super-high-end collectors or people willing to take huge gambles in breaks, so I’d guess most of this product will be broken by breakers, and way out of range to the average collector, but it does look really cool. Hopefully when they come up with a release date and price point I can figure out a way to save up enough $$$ to buy a box, or at least get in a break or two because I definitely think these cards will do very well on the secondary market given the scarcity and potential checklist. I don’t understand why people don’t like Dee Gordon, he’s in a huge market, and if it weren’t for him stealing all those bases, the Dodgers wouldn’t be producing as many runs as they have, keep that in mind Dodger fans. Although I did vote for Yu as the guy I’d collect for strikeout pitchers, I’m basically done investing in pitchers. They’re too unpredictable with so many injuries (20+ Tommy John surgeries since the start of spring training…) and, the ceiling is much higher for a top end batter (see 2011 Harper prices compared to 2010 Strasburg prices as an example, when Harper in my opinion is highly overrated).

The only poll I couldn’t vote in was the Dynasty question. I love the look of those cards but hate the price. I won’t be buying any of that by the pack.

Props to Beckett for listing David Ortiz name next to other steroid users. A lot of people out there are ignoring the fact that he failed the same test that Sammy Sosa failed in 2003.

On question 12, I could not answer because I would trade any redemption card I pulled for something I’d rather have…Just saying…

Agree that I will wait on Tanaka until the end of the year. He is older so I don’t see a lot of long term potential in his card prices. Also agree the Stanton will have a Reggie Jackson like cult following once he ditches the Marlins in free agency. I think he is a fool if he extends with them if he wants to see the playoffs. They have done the fire sale too many times.

How does Grégory Polanco not get a mention as an up and coming minor league slugger in question 11? I know he not really a “slugger” but hitting 14 2Bs, 5 HRs, with a .373 average in 45 AAA games should get him a mention.

Also missing from question #11 is the Cardinals OF Oscar Taveras. Weak question without Planco and Taveras in my opinion.

Mike: The questions were not all-inclusive. The questions were to pick one from those listed.
