PBS doesn’t usually get a big following for its shows – and, no, Sesame Street doesn’t count in this case – but Downton Abbey hit the mainstream TV world.
How much so? Cryptozoic released trading cards for the first two seasons today.
The product features autographs from cast members, wardrobe cards, sketches and 108 base cards featuring episodic images from the first two seasons.
Not many of these cards have ended up on eBay on first day of release, so early value is tough to gauge. However, as more of these cards end up online and are traded through message boards, it will be interesting to see how non-sports collectors respond to this set.

Fifth episode of show’s fourth season scores big
For the third straight year, PBS’s “Downton Abbey” was the second-highest-rated show after the Super Bowl.
PBS’ Carnival Films/Masterpiece co-production scored a 4.9 overnight rating in all viewers. That means 6.8 million viewers total, up 3 percent from the average of 6.6 million viewers it averaged against the Super Bowl last year.

In the key 18-49 demographic, it had a 1.2 rating and an average audience of 1,570,000.
From what I’m told, it’s mostly women that watch. I’ve never watched the show, but I’ve
heard enough people talking about it to know of it.
Admittedly, I have never seen the show. I know about it only because people talk about it on Twitter.
I’d jump on an auto set if Maggie Smith we’re in it, but she’s not, so I won’t.
