It would be a lot more interesting if they had something autographed in there…

They dropped the ball here excluding Sal Bando amongst the giant photo cards and the buttons. Rudi over Sal? Captain Sal had a better WS BA, was elected to 4 AS teams (Rudi had 3) and played in more games for the A’s than Rudi did. And even Campy was more popular than Rudi with A’s fans of that era.

Jamie: Price would go way up, though.

Jeff: Yeah, the player and photo selection can be odd on some of them but it’s a start. The boxes are labeled as Series 1 so hopefully there’s more to come.

This was much cooler than I thought it would be. I might consider doing one if they did one for my team (Cardinals). Then again, which one of the great Cardinal teams will they do? The Gashouse era? Their best decade (and Stan Musial era) of the 40′s? The great teams from the 60′s? The Whiteyball Era? It might be tough to get people to buy the 30′s and 40′s (just because most of the people that remember that era are deceased)… The Whiteyball era would make the most sense, but what year do you do (WS Championship year in ’82, or the year Denkinger robbed us of a Championship in ’85)?
