As someone who only buys retail when I do buy I love the ripping retail box breaks. The more the better.

After looking at prices of hobby boxes when they came out (selling for about $85 each at the time) I went instead to Wal-Mart and picked up three of these retail boxes for $20 each. So for about $20 less than a hobby box (including taxes), I got the same number of packs as a hobby box with the same number of inserts in them, including two memorabilia cards and one autograph card – plus I got a complete base set, which is what I was most interested in. Among my “hits” was both a memorabilia and autograph card for gold medalist Meryl Davis.

I rarely open packs, usually just buying what I want on the secondary market, but I thought it would be fun to get a few random mem and/or auto cards and then just watch the Olympics to see how the people I pulled would do. So that obviously paid off with Davis & I had a lot more fun watching her event (ice dancing) than I might have ordinarily had.

So needless to say, I was very pleased with these particular retail packs.

does the set include any of the hockey team? it was announced so late I wouldn’t think they would have been able to include them.

No men’s hockey cards. Just women and sled hockey(paralympics).
