Card Gallery: 2014 Topps Heritage baseball cards

Rookies

By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor

With this year’s Topps Heritage set less than a week away, Topps has begun teasing images of what’s to be found in this year’s remake of the 1965 Topps set.

We’ve been given just a sip of the insert lineup, a few base cards and  a few others that can be found on the checklist (click here for our past look or to view the final checklist for yourself). One thing we have not yet seen are any teasers for error cards that will be corrected as nods to the original release. (Click here for a primer on what might be possible.)

For now, though, take a look at some of the images after the jump — a gallery we’ll be adding to as the week goes on.

Your take: 2014 Topps Heritage

What, nobody on beckett.com on a Friday night?
I love the ’65 set with the pennants and bright colors, but have a hard time embracing the celebration of the imperfections that used to exist in the card printing process. The errors and variations were over the top a couple of years ago and it just seems to be getting worse. That being said, keep the images coming.

“Cruddy originals”? I’m going to pretend I didn’t just read that.

I’m liking most of what I see here. I didn’t much care for the stuff I was hearing last week, though (watering down the Heritage brand). No reason for Bo Jackson to be included in this set (Didn’t play in ’65 and doesn’t play now).
