By Susan Lulgjuraj | Beckett Sports Card Monthly Editor

The rookie autographs in 2013 Topps Chrome are selling well in the first week of its release. Guys such as Yasiel Puig, Wil Myers and Manny Machado have been good hits for sellers.

As in any Topps Chrome-type of product, any kind of color is a welcomed site.

Here are the top players out of 2013 Topps Chrome Baseball – consider them all on the Hot List.

- Yasiel Puig
Jurickson Profar
Manny Machado
Wil Myers
Evan Gattis
Hyu Jin Ryu
Jose Fernandez

Football

1998 Topps Chrome Peyton Manning RC

High-graded cards sell for $100 or more. With Manning in the spotlight over these last three weeks, collectors are trying to grab his best Rookie Cards – and his 1998 Topps Chrome card is high on that list.

Hockey

2013-14 Panini Prizm Nail Yakupov Rookie Cards

Prizm came out this past week with collectors jumping all over the Rookie Cards – a chrome-like enjoyment for many hockey fans. Yakupov’s cards have been selling among the best. His base Rookie Card often in double digits. And one Yakupov Prizm autograph that sold on eBay went for $199.99.

Since it seems to be a short-print, it could end up being a bargain. Who knows?

2013-14 Panini Prizm Alex Galchenyuk Rookie Cards

Galchenyuk has been another popular player on Rookie Cards this season. His cards also tend to be on the short-printed, adding another layer to the chase element.

MMA

2013 Topps UFC Finest Glover Teixeira autographs

Glover Teixeira is a lightweight UFC fighter who is close to getting a shot for the lightweight belt. Collectors have been spending decent money on his autograph cards recently, probably helped by a TKO win on Sept. 4 over Ryan Bader.

Susan, the manning chrome rookies that go for $8-$10 are the reprints from 2010 that sellers try to pass off as 1998 cards. His true chrome rookie cards have been closing more towards the $25-$40 range.

Thanks, David. With my luck, I would be the one to buy the reprint.

The real rookies have the topps chrome logo in the top right corner. The reprints have the topps logo in yellow in the top right corner plus the card photo is much darker. Topps should do more to help differentiate these reprints. The frank thomas 1990 Topps NNOF reprint always sells for more than it should because non informed buyers think they are buying a real NNOF.
