Cryptozoic to release Downton Abbey trading cards

By Susan Lulgjuraj | Beckett Sports Card Monthly Editor

Downton Abbey is a British period piece on PBS that has caught the attention of many, including Cryptozoic Entertainment.

The entertainment company is releasing Downton Abbey trading cards in late October. It will feature a 63-card base set looking at seasons 1 and 2.

Each box will contain 24 packs with five cards in each pack. There are three chase sets in Downton Abbey with biographies on characters upstairs, downstairs and an At War chase set. There will be two of each of these cards in every box.

Giving a throwback to the period, Cryptozoic will include Cigarette Card mini parallels.

There will also be autographs, wardrobe and sketch cards in the product, but the company has not released the odds for the hits yet.

Somehow, I don’t see the Downton Abbey type as card collectors. However, some people probably say the same thing about Psych, and I am psyched (get it?) for it to release soon

Which company goes out of business first Cryptozoic or Upper Deck? Both horribly run and both bleeding cash.
