Cryptozoic is working on the next edition of The Walking Dead.
The California company is deep into Season 3, putting sets together. However, Cryptozoic is limited by the number of characters it can put it one set – so it’s chopping Season 3 in half.
One set will focus on the prison and the other will focus on Woodbury, giving collectors a chance for some fresh autographs from the television series. The prison set will come out by the end of the year with the Woodbury set a few months later.
Each box will feature five cards per pack and 24 packs per box. There will be one autograph and one wardrobe card in every box. Sketch cards will fall at a rate of one in every 288 packs.
“We have been blown away by the reception of the releases for seasons 1 and 2, but we also have improvements we would like to make to create an even better product for fans,” said Cryptozoic product brand manager Miranda Charksy on the company’s blog. “And, it is with that goal in mind that we have been working to come up with a configuration that we think will help meet the growing demand while remaining a very collectable product.”

sounds like a money grab
When my son and I read about having to buy at least a box of each to complete a set we also felt that this was a way to get more money for the company on a hot product. Advice to Cryptozoic, don’t get greedy, you will piss off your fans and fans are fickle.
