Even card companies need a little help from time-to-time.
Cryptozoic Entertainment, which has created trading cards and deck-building games, started a Kickstarter campaign to build a multiplayer online trading card game HEX.
The company asked for $300,000 to get the venture going – and it has hit that mark with 25 days still left.
The game is free to play. Cryptozoic is taking a trading card game and combining it with digital elements. It seem as though everything acts as a traditional TCG, but it’s going online now.
“For experienced TCG players, we have designed the card set around Booster Draft and Limited play,” the company wrote on its Kickstarter page. “We have engineered the card sets to launch three times a year, like a standard TCG. We have put a tremendous amount of work into creating the best possible online TCG experience, both in terms of balance and design, as well as a graphical polish.”
Cryptozoic also created the World of Warcraft TCG.
