Well I’d love to pull a Chris Olds card but I don’t think he has a card in that set so I’d like to pull all three Pete Rose cards!

I would like to pull a few Pete Rose’s and Don Money. If I bring home a few Rose’s and Money my wife won’t mind if I spend a little at the Baseball Card Exchange.

have to be Nolan Ryan. I was to young to watch him play then, but later watching him play for the rangers and when he Robin Ventura charged the mound and got pounded by Ryan

I hear that “Terry” is a great “Puhl” ..or so i’ve heard. “Mike Proly” would be a good one as well. But for me personally it would be MOOOOOOOOOOOkie wilson’s RC.

I would love to pull the 1981 Ozzie Smith cards when he was on the Padres. You gotta love the old school hair-do he is sporting with the extra long side burns.

Anyone from either New York team because (supposedly) Keith Olbermann took the photographs on several of those players.

I loved the vintage box break, kinda makes me want to buy a box. It reminds me of when I was a kid and buying 87 donruss. The first cards I owned was a Raphael palmero and Greg Maddox RCs. Nolan Ryan was one of my favorites from that year

I would love to pull a Robin Yount because he is from my hometown Danville, Illinois. I don’t have any of his earlier cards of his for my PC. Would be nice. Thanks!

I would love to pull one of the prides of St. Paul Minnesota and the U of M Paul Molitor or Dave Winfield. Add in the potential of a Jack Morris and thats three hall of famers ( or should be HOFers) from one era who grew up less than 3 miles from one another. Pretty damn impressive.

I would have to say the Nolan Ryan first then maybe the Reggie or maybe the Cal jr or even a pete rose… To many to chose from :-)

Any Boston Red Sox card. And If I win, I would be the first French guy in the Beckett History to win a contest. Beckett Team, that’s an opportunity you just can’t miss!!

Give me a Phil Neikro! We share a birthday (April 1st), which is fitting for Knucksie and 1981 is the year I was born. A perfect storm!

Plus, his picture is just plain creepy.

As a Cardinals fan, I’d want to pull Silvio Martinez – one of the best photos in the set, bar none. Look it up – it’s magnificent.

For the set itself, I would want to pull Rickey Henderson (Obviously) and because I love RCs I would want Mookie the Wookie, or Wookie Wilson from the set.

I do wish the packs had puzzles, not even going to lie those were my favorite thing from the earlier sets.

I absolutely love watching these vintage box breaks!!! So fun!! the card or cards I would like to pull would be Goose Gossage and the George Brett. George Brett cards always remind me of when he freaked out because of the pine tar incident! That would have a made a great card maybe even a memorabilia card now HAHA!!

I don’t want a box of this as I have a comc account, but I always enjoy a good 1981 Nolan Ryan. Rickey is another good one as he was the best at what he did probably ever. Tim Raines is a nice rookie card to have, few guys go from grossly underrated to overrated in their lives. Lastly a Mookie Wilson rookie card as he was grandma’s favorite player.

Let’s go 85 Donruss

This is an easy question for me…Tim Raines for sure. The reason being because my first ever trip to a baseball card shop (The Diamond in Rome, NY) was in 1987 and I picked up one pack of 1981 Donruss to open along with some current stuff at the time. When I opened the pack the store owner and I were incredibly excited to see the Raines rookie as one of the final cards. It gave me the collecting bug that I still have today and I was a Tim Raines fan until he retired many years later.
I would love the chance to experience that excitement again a relive a childhood experience.
Thanks.

The Pete Rose card from 81 Donruss I always thought was a decent looking card in an otherwise unremarkable set.

I would love the Tommy John. You know what though, I think Tommy is way to old to be performing surgery on all these players. Wonder how much money he made from performing surgery compared to his baseball salary?

I’m a huge Dodgers fan! So it’s got to be the Steve Howe RC #511. His ears seem to disappear behind a bad ’80′s ‘do and the shady little grin on his face screams, “I’ve been Naughty”, which we all know to be true. Great card! GO DODGERS!

I would love to win this box because it was the year I was born and me and my father won a live auction at a local card shop when I was 10 for a few boxes of 1981 baseball product and then I stored them in the attic and when I just recently got the passion for cards back a few years ago I noticed that from the heat and humidity all my cards became one foot long baseball card and it was the most depressing feeling hearing the gloss of a Rollie Fingers and Ozzie smith turning into a card of each. So it would be a great memory for me and my father to go through another box of 1981 Donruss. Thank you for the competition Chris and I would have said the A’s, but figured other people have gone through my pain, so I just thought I would tell my short version of my story. My father even went online and he is ancient to try and find a company to repair the cards lol. Have a great day.

Without a doubt, I’d want to pull the second-spitter…a.k.a. Keith Hernandez. He gets bad press when we all know it was Roger’s doing.
