Join Beckett Football‘s Dan Hitt and Chris Olds as they rip into a box of 2012 Fleer Retro from Upper Deck in this latest edition of Box Busters.
What will they find inside? Watch and find out …
COOL TEBOW CARD.
That might have been the funniest opening to a break ever. First you can tell they aren’t really into the product just like everyone else. Doesn’t say much for the product that alot of people are hating when it takes you that long to actually get it open. I thought Chris was about to throw it against the wall at one point.
How to open
First take plastic off the box
Second take sticker seals off
Third open box
Fourth take the two mini boxes out
Fifth take the plastic of the mini boxes
Sixth take the sticker seals off the mini boxes
Seventh open the box
Eighth take the card packs out
Ninth open card packs
If this sounds stupid it is. They got the idea form Inception
A Box inside a Box inside a Pack
“This is a really fun, great product”…. ??? Yeah, I love paying $280 for SkyBox, Fleer Ultra…. And getting killed. And pulling a good Auto? Fuggetaboudit… Wow the card market is so outta control.. Someday sooner or later, people will wake up and realize that engineered scarcity is for the birds. All you card companies – You want to put out a solid high-end product? Start buying back/opening the card vault and packaging Original Vintage 50′,60’s,70’s RC cards of Real HOF’ers (Not reprints) and put those cards into new packs (True Big Hits) so you have a chance at real value and scarcity. Add current players also and the new RC’s too, RC Inserts/RC Auto’s maybe. But keep things in perspective for crying out loud… A lousy #’d “1/1″ RC is still a lousy RC – Where’s the future value in that?
A product can be fun and not be valuable. A product can be cheap — or expensive — and still be fun. Ultimately, your reaction probably depends upon why you’re buying.
Fleer Retro (in any sport) is nothing more than whipped cream on a steaming turd….
