Great article! My resolution is to dissolve my Nolan Ryan, Cal Ripken Jr, and Albert Pujols collections so that I can focus on my Ozzie Smith collection. I have collected Ozzie regularly since 1985, but am just now closing in on my 1000th Ozzie Smith card for my collection. I hope in 2013 to get to 1500 or even 2000.

Side note, anyone looking to trade Ozzie cards hit me up. : )

I am going to focus this year on paring down my collection to make room for more new stuff! I’m going to get rid off almost all of my football, hockey, and basketball cards so I can buy more baseball. In fact I’ve finally started creating my own new site to accomplish this (skipscards.com). Hopefully I can expand it more and more each month…now if I can just find the time.

I want to go to a card show at least four times. I have not been to one in over five (maybe more) years and have just gotten packs. I am a Roy Halladay collector and hardly ever get him in packs so I only have a couple of his 2012 issues. I want to triple that at least in 2013.

I resolve to stop collecting. There are fewer and fewer things that I like about the “hobby” these days, and more and more things that I dislike, so why do I keep getting sucked into throwing so much of my money into this hole? It’s just not fun anymore.

I’m going to try and finish off 75% of my sets that I started to the present date, and only limit myself to just a couple of boxes from spacific sports.

I didn’t know you were a jeter fan! I happen to have a few myself. I’m definately going to finish getting rid of all my non jeter stuff (minus some really cool old vintage yankee stuff!) and finally try to finish the master rookie (graded) set and try to find a few of the very elusive early jeter mem cards that have managed to become ghosts in the last 10 years!! High hopes i know, but 2013 is a new year and i have lots of optimism. I’d love to see your collection. Always great to find another fan.

I am buying less new stuff this year and going back to mid 90s early 2000s to pick up cool old baseball stuff. Also start getting stuff graded.

I have already started on my resolutions for 2013. First was to get more organized and get stuff put away in binders which I have done. I have sorted thru my commons and gave a bunch away and will donate some to a school fundraiser auction. I will also do more TTM requests of anybody but baseball ( Very tough lately to get any baseball players anymore). I have done close to 30 requests in the last few days.
