By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor

The stickers are sticking around.

Topps unveiled the newest edition of its MLB Sticker Collection, and it’s a grouping that includes 315 stickers of star players, team logos, mascots and legends from the past.

For 2013, each album will include six free stickers to get collectors started. The players included in the album will be Andre Ethier, Cole Hamels, Jason heyward, Manny Machado, Brandon Phillips and Mark Trumbo.

Some of the retired players in this one will include Ernie Banks, Albert Belle, George Brett, Roberto Clemente, Stan Musial, Willie Mays, Nolan Ryan, Mike Schmidt, Sandy Koufax and Ken Griffey Jr. to name a few.

Set to arrive on March 4, packs will include eight stickers, while there will be 50 packs per box.

clean simple. not a huge fan of swooshy waves as they are so 1999. But I’ll take these stickers. Now if we can only get topps to put stats on the backs of the stickers. I know, I know stickers are meant to be peeled off and the backs discarded. But I still like to keep some of my stickers with the back.

Aside from extra cost, perhaps another reason Topps doesn’t print stats on the back is because then the sticker essentially becomes a baseball card; and it would be a better baseball card, because it has more functionality than card, because not only is it a card, but it’s also a sticker.

I love baseball stickers. They are the forgotten child of the trading card world.

Matt loved everything you said, baseball stickers are fun, takes me back to a great time in life, collecting for the sheer thrill of it and treasuring your find for what it was,a simple pack of cards or stickers of your idols, mine Jim Rice, unlike today when people COMPLAIN about their HIT, like a autograph of a lessor name player,I say lessor with the respect and admiration they deserve A major league player, what I would give to have a cup of coffee in the majors and be on a baseball card,I cherish every hit, especially autographs, just love it.people stop complaining, life is short and hard enough collect what you can afford and have fun.Card collecting is a great hobby, and Mr. olds keep up the great work.
