With his skill at the plate he may even do it again.

That is so hard to do that you may not see it happen again for another 50 years!! Congratulations to Miguel!!

I don’t want to be the one left without a chair (“auto/rc/etc”) when the music stops…but with his skill at the plate I’m not sure the music is going to stop for a LONG time…Trout is amazing, but Cabrera just made HISTORY…he may do it again, and interestingly enough he’s been shafted for six plus years on the MVP.

The Triple Crown, although impressive, is overrated. Really, what does it measure? How well you hit for average, how well you hit for power, and a byproduct of those two skills. I’m a Cabrerra fan, have been since before he broke into the Bigs, but the Triple Crown is a flawed measure of success. Regardless, congrats Miguel on a fine season Miguel. You’ll no doubt go down as one of the great hitters in the game.

I was hoping Ryan Braun would do it in the NL as well, so we could have had 2 Triple Crowns in the same year.

I’m not a big fan of the Triple crown because of RBI’s. You can’t get them if your team mates are not
doing their bit. Batting average and home runs are a measure of individual achievement, though it
still helps to be on a team where you are facing the “right” pitchers and if your team has a number of
the most dominate ones, you get to avoid those too.

The last time I was excited was the home run race. That memory was tainted though, especially after
the Barry Bonds show. Get me a guy that hits over .400 or matches Dimaggio’s streak, and then were
talking. :-)

Trout did something NO ONE has ever done before =). Just sayin…

Miguel Cabrera is now the Documented, Undisputed Superstar of the The New Millennium ! Just as Nolan Ryan is the Absolute Legend of the 2nd half of the 20th century. Dealing with past addiction myself, I am so proud of Miguel’s responsible behavior I read about… When the Tiger’s sealed the deal to advance to the Playoffs, Miguel kept his distance, even though his team planned ahead, and used non-alcoholic champagne to spray everywhere It is the behaviors, and situations that can lead us to temptation. Wonderful Athlete, Role Model, and a Great example of how a Celebrity should act, and come across to fans of all ages. Many players had great years in 2012, that happens on occasion . It was 45 years since any M.L.B. Player was given the Triple Crown Title… Give this man the Props he deserves ! * For any Debbie Downer’s I’ve read comments from, downplaying history ? Our parents hopefully taught us not to say anything, unless we have something nice to say ! Future Hall of Famer, Miguel Cabrera’s name, and Legend will be recognized by our children’s Grandchildren.

It’s an incredible achievement. It’s rarer than a Perfect Game and as rare as an unassisted triple play. While we live in a SABR world these days and we have all poo-pooed the value of the RBI, it is easy to forget amassing a ton of RBIs doesn’t happen by magic. While Batting Average may not be as important as OBP or SLG these days, it still tells you this individual safely hits the baseball a greater percentage than anyone else. If you had to describe what the game of baseball was about, the first thing you’d describe is the act of standing there with your round bat trying to hit a round ball. Again, there may be more important elements that contribute to a team’s chances of winning and better statistics to define the winning and losing of a game, but the game itself is predicated on this act.

Was Trout the better player this year? I could buy that argument. Sure, Trout’s season has never been done before, but that’s like saying Johnny Damon is the only player in history with 2,700 Hits, 500 Doubles, 100 Triples, 400 SBs, 1,000 RBIs, and 1,000 Walks, who Grounded into fewer than 100 double plays. What did Trout actually lead the league in? Runs and Stolen Bases; just like the aforementioned Damon (2000) and several others who didn’t get the award. But in the history of baseball, a Triple Crown is about as rare as it gets. The Live Ball Era is now 92 years old and in the last half of that time, it has been done once until this season.

All I can say is I have sold almost all my rookies, but I got a new case of traded sets yesterday and 11 boxes of of 2000 futures royal rookies packs the day before.
I haven’t cracked the case yet, but did rip a box of Royal Rookie packs so far and might do one more.No Cabrera auto yet.Got it opened now.
I might list some boxes soon, but they will be pricey.
I saved all my ungraded that will be mint- gem at bgs.

Miguel has been flying under the radar as one of mlb’s true superstars. His Triple Crown, has brought him well deserved notoriety. Excited to pull or purchase some of the Triple Crown redemption cards.
