2012 Topps Platinum Football retail break

By Susan Lulgjuraj | Beckett Football Editor | Commentary

Topps Platinum¬†hits the shelves this week. But if you’re lucky, you can grab some of it early in retail stores.

On Monday, I found a Target that had plenty of Platinum ready for ripping. There were loose packs, rack packs and blaster boxes.

There would have been a Ripping Retail video, but I managed to mess that up and record about two packs worth of the break before I somehow hit the end button.

Instead, enjoy a gallery of the cards I snagged out of a blaster and two rack packs.

Every blaster – at least the ones I saw – come with a rookie Relic inside, which is where the Rueben Randle jersey card came from. Also, the rack packs (those are the long hanging packs) have an exclusive pack of three orange Refractors.

is there a difference between the retail base and the “hobby” base?

Just wanted to comment, bought a rack pack, not a big collector of Football but these Topps Platinum cards are sweet. Excellent design, bright crisp cards with RCs on them so a Football Dweeb like me will know who the Rookies are.
I will really miss Topps anything Basketball, Panini needs to step up.

Josh, for you and the thousands that always ask that question. Its only worth what someone will give you and onoly if you sell it to them when offered. If you hold on to it after an offer is made its worth is zero. Bryan, why would retail packs not have jersey cards? If not then wallyworld and the others would not carry them as they would just sit. I can tell you I rarely buy hobby and get great hits in retail blasters often. Platinum has been great
