mini bowman will be cool. It sounds like a good idea with me.

I kind of wish they had just let the mini set be base. I guess having the inserts would have been ok, but the auto and mems are just going to raise the price on the secondary market. I also wish it would have been in stores and hobby shops. Maybe 2013 minis will be in stores.

Sooooo, is this is just another parallel to the base set. Will Beckett call these true rookie cards? Will there be the different parallels to the base? Adding yet more parallels to an awesome set seems like a waste of time & money. Topps will not get my money on this set.

This was a great idea…until I saw it was a shoptopps.com exclusive. If it’s like series 1 and 2, box price will probably be 49.95 so it doesn’t quite meet the 50 dollars for free shipping, then you’ll have to pay another 15 to ship it. Forget it. I’d love to go down to my hobby store and buy some packs or even a box, but I won’t get ripped off by Topps.com. Maybe I’ll buy a box from a dealer on ebay.

topps loves hobby stores for sure! Maybe they will buy back everyone’s singles from the 80′s when they dont want them anymore since they dont believe a brick and mortar store is important

Joe: I’m not sure specifically about the tagging, but I can tell you that the 1975 mini rookies are not tagged as RCs. So now the lone question is whether the non-traditional release format of 2012 is more or less obscure than 1975′s regional test issue status that nixed the tagging.

Where can I find decent pages to hold these? I’m tired of putting 1975-size minis in 9 pocket sheets, but I can’t find anything from UltraPro or BCW. Has anyone found something better?

i will have to go along with Dan C. on this, if they are worried about having to many, maybe they should cut back, not sell it direct, i see panini does this also, not sure why, but time will tell there motive behind this. although i’m not comfortable with the words ripped off, i would say that they are or can undermind the hobby shops. i have heard some concerens about this both ways pro and neg,

Too funny really the price and shippg is enough to pass but I wonder how many are going to be printed,.
It might be a fun break considering that series 1 and 2 are included just means harder to make a set and multiple boxes would have to be bought. Topps isn’t stupid here they see a bottom line built on Hype and it hasd worked so far Strasburg Haprer who’s next.
While the bottom line price is always my concern I’ll defer till I hear more.

Over saturation in product releases is not much different than over saturation of companies releasing product in the 90′s that got us where we are today.

They should be more readily available. I’ll get them on the secondary market.

when shoptopps.com sells boxes do they sell hobby versions or retail versions?

David: It’s the *only* version.

Cincy: It’s a mini version of the 2012 set.

Dan C.: I’d bet that your best price will be on the Topps site. Anyone selling for less on ebay would be selling at a loss. (It’s not being sold via distributors.)

I’d love to see them do a vintage based set on the early 50′s Bowman sets. Those are beautiful and were “mini” sized as well, so I think that would be awesome!

1975 Mini’s were released in Michigan and California.

with so many minis crammed into products over the past several years i can’t even come close to being excited about this.

I think I’ll have to wait and see if Chris and Brian will get a box to open for boxbusters. This seems like an interesting idea, but I like to buy a pack before I buy a box so I can see what it looks like.

If you are a set builder, do not waste your time or money. I bought six boxes and my friend bought six. Between us we are 25 cards short of a set. The collation is horible. Multiples of the same card in multiple packs of a box.
