Nice product. I like the 3 guaranteed autos rather than ‘autos or memorabilia’. It has a poor-man’s SP authentic feel to it. Thanks for the contest.

Opened a blaster and two hoppy packs last week. I’m not a big football collector but I love this product because upper deck always has great photography. I really like the mascot patches, I pulled one and they’re even cooler in person. The trade card are a good way to involve another player in the product, and add a watch and wait theme to part of the product.

I really like the SP parallel. Might have to put that one together.

Love the 93 SP throwbacks…I loved them when I was busting to get the Jerome Bettis and Drew Bledsoe rookies…the autographs are stickers, but some things can’t be helped…I really like the Ultimate Rookies being introduced through this product. Overall looks like a good value for what you buy it for.

this is a very nice looking upper deck card. i like how not only are you getting current college players but the old ones as well. i love the letterman auto patches. i love the sp parallel. with all things bad with upper deck right now, this is the first good.

DAN, Andrew I would say if price is right this is a decent break. You get at the very least cards with logos. And I would guess it’s a toss up IF the card will be redeemable,. That being said I would gladly take the card if for some odd reason I won consider it Beginners ‘LUCK’ Since I haven’t won here before. Simple design good to see plenty of Hof Players and the Sp rc’s Ultimate rc’s so this does have an appeal.

I do not like this product. Badcard designs, bad pictures, Not a fan. Thanks

Looks like a good product, like the design (same as this years upper deck hockey) and the college pics are nice.

This is one of the products that I could really take or leave. The parallels look okay and the patch card was nice, but the other autographs really didn’t jump out. The photography, as mentioned, is really hit and miss. Even though one wasn’t pulled, the mascot cards are probably the most interesting cards in the set.

I really feel sorry for Upper Deck not having a NFL license. They make some great cards and come up with the best ideas. This is a very creative product that does well for the expected price.

Can’t wait to get a box of them they look great, love the product

This was an interesting time to see this product, If I remember right there was an upper deck had a trade card for a Shaq rookie trade card in 1992/93. the reason this is interesting is yesterday I paid $20 for 5 boxes of cards from a co-worker in which I found all 3 upper deck shaq rookies, plus quite a few 1993 sp football card rookies including Drew Blrdsoe and Jerome Bettis. interesting coincidence. would love to have a rookie football auto, Its been a while since I’ve had one. Good luck everbody.

I opened a box and got one of the College Mascots cards (Wisconsin’s Bucky Badger). Those really look nice.

Very cool looking product !! I like how they have a lot of HOF players with the crisp photos, and i also the 90’s parallels are pretty sweet. Thanks for the contest !!!

Thanks for the contest guys! I remember the fun of opening a box of 92/93 Upper Deck Basketball and pulling a Trade Card for a Shaq rookie card. As soon as I saw the Trade Card you got from 2012 Upper Deck Football it took me back to those days. The post by Susan about this product on 4/26 mentioned a gold or silver version. Which did you get?

I agree with Jonathan – good job by Upper Deck making the best out of a tough situation.

Once again the Beckett biasness towards Upper Deck shows. Not one mention of “sticker autographs.” Now, had this been Topps or Panini that would have been talked about over and over and over again. All of the comments from you Beckett employees would have been sticker autograph complaints. Complaints about how tired you are of the manufactured patches. I think it’s kind of pathetic. Please note, that redemption card does not specify what year that first round draft pick autograph you will get.

You forgot to mention the really interesting aspects of the “TRADE CARD”. The part where you have to send the card in with a self-addressed, stamped envelope, they are not redeemable online, and that the card in question will not be actually redeemed until June 1, 2013.

I think it’s a good looking product, but I’m not sure if the “value” is there.

Looks like a typical upper deck football product. Never really buy a full box but usually buy a bunch of retail packs because I get the itch to bust packs. As always good but not great stuff.

3 hits per box is a good thing, but not to big of a college fan to really dig the product, but it’s good thing that Upper Deck is still trying to be apart of the football scene..

I really like the concept of the trade cards and despite UD not having an NFL license, they are still producing some great products! And who doesn’t like to bust into the first licensed product of the 2012 football card season. I don’t know if I will be able to bust any right now though. Funds are low. But really enjoyed the box busters episode to see what I could possibly get if I can get some!

Great bust Beckett! Love box busters! Upper Deck continues to produce an awesome football product. Love the look of the rookie cards. The autographs and especially the Letter autographs are some of my favorite autographs every year. Thanks for the contest and for another great episode of box busters.

Love the look of the throwbacks. Seems like a decent break at a reasonable price, so I might have to pick up a box. Great idea of using the trade card again. Thanks.

This is my favorite product, I love the college uniform pics of past and present. I’ve already opened 6 boxes, got a Tannehill letterman auto, Joe Adams letterman auto (which is great since I live in Charlotte) and a lot of other great cards. I still haven’t got an RG3 base card but hopefully in the next box. That Trade Upper Deck card would make my year!!!!! Those mascot cards are sweet too, very nice stitching, only a 1 in 2 box chance of getting one but I got 4 in my 6 boxes ( SC, Texas, UK and Pitt) Thnx for the contest….

How in the world could anyone feel sorry for Upper Deck not having an NFL License? Upper Deck did not pay the NFLPA and probably jacked around with payment with NFL Properties. They will never ever ever get back into the NFL trading card business. Anyone interested in a Class Action lawsuit against Upper Deck for unfullfilled redemptions. Should be a slam dunk winner for us? Any good attorneys out there willing to “chop the head off of a snake?”

The photography is top notch as usual. Some repeats I’m sure but there is something I enjoy about having older players on a regular base card design without it being some lame subset with another design. Very cool. I’ll have to wait for the price of the box to come down to get a bit more value out of it. Right now it’s definitely a big gamble with their auto checklist.

UD is making their best effort with the licenses they have. This product looks pretty nice. I pulled a nice SP of Bo Jackson yesterday in a rack pack.

I love this years product because theres more Tar Heels I can try and get but also because Brian Quick has Appalachian Lettermen! I really like the look of the Ultimates as well as the 93 throwbacks. I applaud UD in including the draft pick card since Press Pass has the exclusive rights right now with Luck. Great break and I would love to win the Luck!

Solid product, Autos are great but the rookies are not considered “true” rookies so that is a drawback. Great for college football fans though. Love boxbusters can’t wait until the next rip!!!-thanks-guys

UD still makes better cards than Panini without a license. I’ll send Richard McWilliam my money before it goes to a spaghetti factory in Italy.

its nice to see that uppper deck is offering 3 autos in the box, even if it is only college i still think i will get a couple of boxes in hope to get one of those trade cards. it would be a bonus to win this one to help me out with completing the set when i start it.

thanks for the contest

Yes. Even without an NFL license, UD still makes fantastic cards. I don’t get how or why they are no longer making NFL cards, and even more perplexed when someone says they cannot wait for UD to go under. Tragedy if that ever happens. Long live UD!

IT IS AMAZING. BECKETT AND MOST OF YOU POSTING (BECKETT EMPLOYIES PRETENDING TO BE THE MASSES) ARE SO HYPOCRITICAL. YOU BASH TOPPS AND PANINI FOR STICKER AUTOGRAPHS AND HOW MUCH YOU HATE THE USE OF STICKER AUTOGRAPHS. UPPER DECK USES THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN AND ITS NOT EVEN MENTIONED IN THIS EDITION OF BOX BUSTERS. GO BACK TO BOX BUSTERS EDITION OF WORLD OF SPORTS. THEY DON’T EVEN TALK ABOUT STICKER AUTOGRAPHS. HOWEVER, EVERY TOPPS OR PANINI PRODUCT THAT YOU GUY BUST YOU ALWAYS MENTION THAT THERE ARE STICKER AUTOGRAPHS. WHY IS THAT? BECAUSE YOU ARE BIAS TOWARDS UPPER DECK.
NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN EVERYBODY LOVES THE MANUFACTURED AUTOGRAPH LETTERMEN CARDS. I THOUGHT THEY WHERE OVER USED. NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY ARE NOT BECAUSE BECKETTS FAVORITE CARD COMPANY IS USING THEM, AGAIN AND AGAIN. MAKING IT SEEM AS IF IT’S THE GREATEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD.
THIS IS WHY I STOPPED BUYING BECKETT. ITS ALL ONE SIDED. PRAISE UPPER DECK AND BASH EVERYONE ELSE.

Wow what luck pulling the luck! A very typical upperdeck football product not much has changed which to me is a good thing. I’ve seen some pics of the mascot cards and think its a great idea. Always been a dream job of mine! You mentioned some photos were blurry, this should be avoided in the future upperdeck to maintain your rep. as a high quality product. Cheers.

Although I’m not a huge fan of the college cards, I am a big fan of the Letterman cards and the one pulled is no exception. As usual, UD has some of the best photography in the biz and of course, who wouldn’t want that TRADE CARD. Give me some love!

To me,this is a quick fix until the actual rookie cards hit.The veteran cards won’t be worth more than $2 and the vast majority of the rookies won’t be worth more than $2.The old SP subset is ok,but they did it in 2008.Gimmick cards, like the Trade Card and the Mascots,is ok;but it’s still a gimmick to sell the product.True RG3 and some others are in here, but most of the stout draft picks have had other autos and they were on card.I would grade it as a “C” product.Too much of the been there, done that (recently too) feel to it.

Side note, you guys should give that Pead auto away.

2012 Upper Deck Football looks like a nice product this year. I like collecting those HOF’ers and present players, but one thing the product is missing is Andrew Luck. They probably fixed that problem with a “Trade Card”. Any one would be LUCKY to have that Trade Card!

I think the product is solid, would have liked to seen a bigger emphasis on the rookies. I ripped 2 boxes and put together the base “old timers” set twice with little difficulty, but rookies really felt like SP’s. 3 auto’s including a letterman auto per box is a nice touch
