Vampire Diaries autographs jump off pages

The Vampire Diaries is everyone’s (almost) favorite group of bloodsuckers.
The CW hit became popular when it premiered in 2009, grabbing the attention of supernatural drama fans.
Cryptozoic Entertainment added another element for fans – a set of trading cards with autographs and memorabilia cards.
University of Wisconsin aims to stop sales of star quarterback’s baseball cards

Russell Wilson baseball card owners might get a letter from the University of Wisconsin if they have his cards for sale.
Wilson has cards in 2010 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospects, 2010 Bowman Draft Prospects and 2010 Topps Pro Debut after he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 2010 draft and played second base this summer for the Class-A Asheville Tourists.
However, Wilson is also the quarterback for the Wisconsin Badgers. He transferred there from N.C. State. He has thrown for 2,416 yards and 25 touchdowns for the 8-2 Badgers this season.

Random Question time … What one card would you want as a perfect BGS 10?
Just like the first question, I don’t have a distinct, definitive reply, but rather a few cards that might qualify. The real question one must first ask is whether you’d pick a card for the money — or for a card you’d want. Let us know which way you’d go …

FIRST LOOK: 2011 Totally Certified Football

Video cards are coming to football.
Panini America is bringing HRX video trading cards to 2011 Totally Certified Football, which is due out in January.
Panini began the video card experiment with basketball and will be doing a number of similar promotions with it. Just like the basketball cards, the HRX video cards will feature exclusive videos, autographed versions and 1/1 gold autographed versions.

For collectors looking for autographs, 2011 Prime Signatures Football seems to be the place to turn.
Scheduled for a mid-February release with autographs from rookies, veterans and legends, the product is a “re-imagined upgrade of the 2002 Playoff Prime Signatures Football issue,” Panini wrote in a release.

First look: 2011 Topps USA Baseball boxed set

The red, white and blue are back — in boxed set form — once again.
Topps released the basic information for its 2011 USA Baseball box set on Monday — an annual collecting staple that lets collectors get some of the earliest cards of potential future stars years before they might ever play in the big leagues all in one place.
This year’s set, which will include seven autographs, three Relics and a 61-card base set in every box, will arrive on Dec. 14.
