One of the most iconic teams in college football history will be memorialized in trading cards next month.
Upper Deck is releasing a set dedicated to the University of Texas Longhorns featuring memorable figures such as Colt McCoy, Darrell Royal, Earl Campbell, Priest Holmes, Vince Young, Ricky Williams and plenty of others.
The base set will include legends dating back to the 1950s. Eighty of the cards will feature players with 20 signifying monumental moments in Longhorns history.
Some of the inserts should excite Texas fans. The inserts include All-Time Alumni Autographs, National Champions Autographs, UT Icons and more.
There are also dual and triple autos.
Imagine pulling a Vince Young/Colt McCoy dual autograph card?
Each hobby box contains 24 packs with eight cards in each pack. There is also one autograph in every hobby box and two special light F/X UT Icons cards.
Upper Deck also gave blasters a special treatment. One of four replica championships pennants can be found in the retail specialty box.
What team would you like to see Upper Deck do next?
Oklahoma Sooners!!!!!!!!!! Oklahoma has a very rich history and not near as many delinquents as Texas Longhorns (ex. Cedric “alcoholic” Benson, Vince “mentally disturbed” Young, Ricky “I smoke dope all day” Williams), I’m just saying.
I forgot to include the most notorious Long Horn of all, Charles Whitman I wonder if he makes it into this set? A real classy school i do say. Colt McCoy i do give you props you are one of the few Long Horns i respect including Earl Cambell and Priest Holmes, but its just to bad you chose UT brother.
id personally like to see them do The Ohio State Buckeyes, but it also be fitting to see them do teams like Notre Dame, USC, Oklahoma sooners, Nebraska and Alabama,
