First look: 2011 Topps Heritage Minor League Baseball

The long-running Topps Heritage baseball line is taking a trip this summer.

A trip down to the farm.

Topps unveiled the basic product information and preview images for a new Minor League Baseball line on Tuesday afternoon, 2011 Topps Heritage Minor League Edition, which will arrive in mid-September with three very notable inclusions.

Bryce Harper, Bryce Harper’s autographs and Bryce Harper’s first professional non-1/1 game-used Relic cards. (And they won’t be easy pulls.)

Each 24-pack box of this hobby-only product that carries the design of the 1962 Topps set will contain two autographs, one Relic and four numbered parallel cards. It’s only the second overall product line used for MiLB cards by Topps since it landed the exclusive license beginning last year.

Harper’s Real One on-card autographs will be limited to just 54 copies with the following signed on-card parallels: Printing Plates, Black border (1/1), Green Tint (/5), Red (/10) and Blue (/25). That’s fewer than 100 autographs for the entire product.

There will be a single Harper signed jumbo patch card while his standard Relics will include a piece of a base from his debut game in the Arizona Fall League. There will be a Black 1/1, a Green (/5), a Red (/50) and a Blue (/100).

The base set will consist of 200 cards with 50 short-printed All-Star cards found one in every four packs.

The set will be paralleled just like the Harpers via printing plates and Blacks (/62), while the set will be divided by Blue tints, Red and Greens each limited to 299. Only 50 cards from the set will be found on Greens, while the other two colors divide the remaining cards in half.

The autograph cards checklist will include more than 30 players each with printing plates, Black 1/1s, Greens (/10), Reds (/25) and Blues (/99). The Relics will be found with 1/1 patches, Blacks (/5), Green (/50), Red (/99) and Blue (/199) tint parallels.

Among the signers for the product are Brett Bochy, Dickie Joe Thon, Jordan Pacheco, Jordan Swagerty, Nolan Arenado, Steve Geltz, Stephen Lombardozzi and many others.

The full preliminary Relic checklist includes Stetson Allie, Lonnie Chisenhall, Wil Myers, Christian Colon, Adys Portillo, Rymer Liriano, Jason Kipnis, Travis D’Arnaud and Anthony Gose.

Among the All-Stars on SPs are Dustin Ackley, Chisenhall, Randall Delgado, Grant Green, Harper, Manny Machado, Jesus Montero, Mike Montgomery, Myers, Jurickson Profar, Miguel Sano, Donavan Tate and several others.

Well, there goes another set I won’t be able to afford due to Harper-mania. It’s worse than Strasburg last year. I think Harper’s a great prospect and could be great in the majors in the near future, but I wouldn’t spend thousands on his cards because I honestly don’t see how the value can go any higher than it already is.

mid sept. regular season ends around sept 5th. most hobbiest buy minor league to get auto`s at games. good timing. bing it out in july or aug. your banking on one guy selling this product. i sell tons of topps debut and tristar prusuit singles, might open half a case instead of 2 or 3 cases. thanks for save me more money again. bring back donruss/panini into the relm of baseball cards.

awsome idea, hey upper deck you wish you could do this hell no. this product will sell give it due time.the harper will be the ace of spades everyone will be hunting for.

I think it’s a cool concept. I just wish EVERY product didn’t have to have as much Harper in it as it does. This will be hot among TTM/IP collectors though. I just hope Topps doesn’t overdue it.

Bryce Harper Mania seems bigger than the Strasburg was last year. Topps is definately gonna sell out at the factory level, and I am already getting calls on pre-sales of this item, which releases in a few months. WOW!

Awesome! Ive always wondered when they would get around to this idea.I TRUELY cant wait.
A tip.Off timeing on another minor league product Topps, thats 3 in a row. Just better mean that since its due in Sept it gives them time to sign 2011 draftees? Or to size up the real propsects so we dont have a set with 26 year old A ball AllStars.Also make sure there arent any released players in the set(like the 2010 debut series 2 which had 6 guys released before the end of Spring Training.) Im for hire Topps.Love the minors . Make it beatiful. Will
