Box Busters Preview Gallery: 2011 Press Pass Legends

By Andrew Tolentino | Football Editor

Today, we had the pleasure of busting three boxes of 2011 Press Pass Legends  Football with company frontman Nick Matijevich.

The Box Busters video should appear here shortly, but we managed to snag some scans for pre-show purposes. While the forthcoming talkie will tell more, the gallery below — featuring a sampling of hits, inserts and base cards from a single box — should give collectors a good idea of what to expect in Legends.
The soon-to-release Press Pass product serves up a nice blend of new and old players — all in the collegiate context, of course. Offering on-card autographs, inscriptions and quality patches (as seen above), Legends is an early-season release worth this look (and a look at the video), at the very least.

With each league around the sports signing exculsive contracts with card markers. We get air brushing and other alter cards. When are the leagues going to start caring about the collecteors instead of there pocket books. NEVER

You got to really do your research before buying these boxes for all the money invest in these boxes. It looks so bootleg without the logos for what you spend on these. It reminds me of the baseball cards you to get out of Kelloggs Cereal when I was a kid with no logos. The exclusive licensing is bad because you have the nice quality cards by good companies that don’t have licensing rights. It looks really bad on the close up shots on these cards. I will buy these cards on the secondary market if see any cards that interest me. You bust the boxes I will buy.

I will no longer buy Press Pass without the college logos and helmets. I’m a fighting irish fan, but I have no desire in owning a card of a player that has airbrushing. Sorry guys.
