Topps' 2010 MLB Rookie All-Star Team

Topps created its annual rookie All-Star team in 1959. Since then 17 future Hall-of-Famers have been named to the team with players such as Willie McCovey, Joe Morgan and Cal Ripken Jr.

The company released this year’s edition with catcher Buster Posey and pitcher Stephen Strasburg highlighting the list.

The award is given to one player for each field position in addition to a right-handed pitcher, a left-handed pitcher and a reliever regardless of league.

1B Gaby Sanchez, Florida – .273 avg., 19 HR, 85 RBI in 151 games.

2B Neil Walker, Pittsburgh – .296 avg., 12 HR, 66 RBI in 110 games.

3B Danny Valencia, Minnesota – .311 avg., 7 HR, 40 RBI in 85 games.

SS Starlin Castro, Chicago (N.L.) – .300 avg., 3 HR, 41 RBI in 125 games.

OF Austin Jackson, Detroit – .293 avg., 4 HR, 41 RBI in 151 games.

OF Mike Stanton, Florida – .259 avg., 22 HR, 59 RBI in 100 games.

OF Jason Heyward, Atlanta – .277 avg., 18 HR, 72 RBI in 142 games.

C Buster Posey, San Francisco – .305 avg., 18 HR, 67 RBI in 108 games.

RHP Stephen Strasburg, Washington – 5-3, 2.91 ERA with 92 strikeouts, 17 walks in 68 innings.

LHP Jaime Garcia, St. Louis – 13-8, 2.70 ERA with 132 strikeouts and 64 walks in 163.1 innings.

Reliever Neftali Feliz, Texas – 41 saves, 2.73 ERA with 71 strikeouts, 18 walks in 69.1 innings.

Neil Walker will have the best “sophomore” year. After 6 years in the minors and 3 position changes, his hard work finally paid off!!!
