He floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee, but it’s been a long, long time since he’s been on a trading card.

Muhammad Ali‘s return to cardboard came one step closer to full fruition on Wednesday as SportKings unveiled several new images in its forthcoming Series D set, which will include Ali when it arrives on July 15.

The next issue of Beckett Sports Card Monthly (No. 304) will examine Ali’s cardboard legacy as the first set from Brian Price and Co. arrives in June, Ringside Boxing, which will include Ali cards as well as a small number of Ali autographs.

Boxing hasn’t had its own trading card set since the mid -1990s.
