Donruss recently announced its plans for this year’s NFL Experience, which includes its sponsorship of the official autograph pavilion, and the company also will sponsor the card show that takes place at the seven-day event, which kicked off during the weekend and continues later this week.
As part of the festivities, the company created a 440-card factory set that will be sold at the event and has several other exclusive cards.
The Score set will feature the Super Bowl XLIII logo and those who buy it also will receive an exclusive 18-card set of players in this year’s Super Bowl — nine cards for the NFC’s Arizona Cardinals and nine for the AFC’s Pittsburgh Steelers.
A limited edition glossy version of the set also is available with each card serial-numbered to just 250 copies. Those purchasing the set will receive the bonus set as well as a random prime memorabilia card made just for the event. The cards are serial-numbered to just 25 and include: Tom Brady, Adrian Peterson, Randy Moss, Darren McFadden, LaDainian Tomlinson, Felix Jones, Rashard Mendenhall, Joseph Addai, Philip Rivers and Terrell Owens.
The factory set is $40, while the limited edition version will sell for $100.
A wrapper redemption program returns this year focusing on the host Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Collectors can bring three unopened packs of any 2008 Donruss Playoff product to the booth and receive one of these cards: Jeff Garcia, Earnest Graham, Derrick Brooks or Ronde Barber.
Donruss’ prize wheel also will be in the company’s booth, where a spin provides fans the chance to win more exclusive Super Bowl cards. This year’s theme is Super Bowl MVPs and rookies, and the cards will include Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Tom Brady, Ray Lewis, Hines Ward, Dexter Jackson, Brett Favre, Donruss spokesman Adrian Peterson as well as rookies Matt Ryan, Darren McFadden and Chris Johnson.
