2009 Bowman Sterling 5 Case Break and Contest Thread
[CONTESTS CLOSED -- THANKS FOR PLAYING]

As many of you know, I am a chromie who regularly posts Bowman product breaks on this board.  You can see some other recent breaks here:

I finally cleared the 09 Draft from my workspace and am ready to start busting my 5 cases of the 09 Bowman Sterling product (received from Blowout cards).

I will be listing out all numbered cards and autos and will attempt to grade the break on a box by box basis. I invite you to stop by this thread, help me with the grading, and contribute to the discussion. I sleeve, clean, and sort as I go, so the breaks usually last 5-10 days, which gives a lot of different members an opportunity to stop by and comment while the break is still ongoing. The collective expertise of the Beckett community in these threads invariably makes me more knowledgeable about the product. Plus, it's fun to show off a little bit. Smile

To heighten interest in the break, I will organize a couple of contests.  All contest information (including results) will be in this thread, and entries need to be posted here as well. This keeps the Message Board tidy.

[CONTESTS CLOSED -- THANKS FOR PLAYING]

CONTEST #1: To kick things off, I will be offering FIVE autos from among my duplicates (I will give you a list from which to choose after the entire break) to the winner of the first contest. To participate, you need to guess which single autograph card (see bottom for a link to the checklist) will appear *in my first case* as the lowest-numbered parallel. For example, if the first case produces 10 refractor autos, 2 gold refractor autos, and a black refractor auto (I've got about a 20% chance of a red refractor auto during the entire break), who is the black refractor auto? If there is a tie for lowes tnumbered parallel (e.g., two black autos), the winner will be the one I pull LAST in the case. To break ties, you must also guess the score of the Sunday night Chargers-Jets playoff game. Closest to the pin wins, further tiebreak goes to the earlier poster. All entries must be posted before I post results from my first box, which will probably be Saturday afternoon.

[CONTESTS CLOSED -- THANKS FOR PLAYING]

A valid entry, therefore, will look something like this:

"Lowest parallel auto: Jared Mitchell

Chargers 44-0" (I'm a Chargers fan)  emoticon

Make sense? Then let the games begin. Wish me luck!

Nathan

LIST OF AUTOS is at the link below, p. 4, first column, from Bastardo to Wheeler.  I don't think the Anderson, Parr, or Vendetti autos made it onto the list.

Nope, just single autos.

Deal, but you'd better win it outright -- I don't like your tiebreak at all.  Smile
