OT: The "I Lost My Job Thread" (Day 1)
Today was D-Day at my former employer. 9 Years 8 Months of service came to an end at 10:00 AM today.
Got fired for "not meeting the expectations of my position". I wish they would have done it yesterday afternoon so I could have avoided rush hour traffic this morning... Just figured I would throw this thread out there. Not looking for condolences, cause I'm taking this as a blessing in disguise. I had always thought that had I been paid even $1,000 less per year I would have quit. I'm going to use this opportunity to find something that I actually like to do. Only real bummer is I just bought a house 2 months ago. Might be rocky here for a bit, and I might even have to start dumping some of the personal collection to make ends meet for a while. JZ |

My dad lost his and my mom is about to lose hers. She works at astar and they are supposed to lose 10,000 jobs out there. Sorry about your job man, hope it all works out

that sucks. its gonna be a rough year for a lot of people. i work for publix and they just bought out a good portion of the albertsons in florida and there will be quite a few people not being invited to join us after the finalization of it all

It is getting tough out here in this world. Companies can dump us at any given moment and think nothing of it. Someday, this country will be back to companies needing people and wont get the help. Just like in the 80s'. Keep your head up and you will prosper.

that sucks, they fired ya on a tuesday morning. "we find its best to fire people on a friday, that way there is less chance of an incident"- office space.haha. sorry to hear about your job man, hang in there, things will work out!
