My Ongoing Mailday/Pickup Thread
Finally got around to taking some pics of this week's pickups and mail and I'll be updating this thread with breaks, pickups and mail every so often. Big Grin

The first one this week is an interesting piece. I won my LCS's NFL Player of the Day contest and in addition to being entered into the drawing to spend a day with an NFL player, I won this prize:

2008 Leaf Limited Tashard Choice Sample RC Auto w/NFLPA COA
[Image: ChoiceCOA.jpg]

It's interesting because the card is hard-signed and all the Limited RCs from last year were stickers, so it's pretty unique. It is also FT/FS if there are any Cowboys fans out there.

The next few cards are additions to my growing Josh Freeman PC. I've got another nice one coming so I'll update this thread when it gets here:

2009 Limited Josh Freeman Draft Day Limited Patch #/100 NFT
[Image: FreemanDraftDay.jpg]

2009 Limited Josh Freeman Jumbo Jersey/Auto #/10 NFT
[Image: Freeman.jpg]

2009 UD Black Josh Freeman Lustrous Rookie Signatures RC #/199 NFT
[Image: FreemanBlack.jpg]

Next up is a nice jersey/auto for one of this year's MVP candidates. His team is undefeated (for now) and they'll be very hard to beat in the playoffs.

2009 Limited Drew Brees Banner Season jersey/auto #/25 NFT
[Image: Brees.jpg]

Finally this week, I picked up a nice hard-signed auto of one of the best QBs of this or any era, who is also an MVP candidate and whose team also happens to currently be undefeated. I got it at an unbelievable price, too!

2009 Philadelphia Peyton Manning Philadelphia Signatures auto SP NFT
[Image: ManningPhilly.jpg]

Between the Brees, the Manning and the Favre that's my avatar, I'd say I've got a pretty good shot at having an auto of this season's MVP. Big Grin

And there you have it. I've got several more cards coming over the next week or so, including the aforementioned Freeman and a sweet hard-signed auto of another Colts QB. Comments are welcome and as always, thanks for the read! Big Grin

Aloha Brado8236, Wow... Congrats on winning that contest. The Cowboys sure have a very good trio of Rb's. I wonder if that Choice card is in the Beckett system since it is stamped as "Sample".. That is some Awesome mail day you got there too. I love the look of the Limited and especially the UD Black. I can't wait to get my hands on a Moreno. I'd say that you are covered for this years MVP, Though i am rooting for Drew Brees. I never seen any of those Banner Seasons cards until now, And i likey's. I heard that there are not that many Drew Brees Auto's out there(Well atleast not comparing to other Superstars). The Manning is a beauts too, He matches with the style of the card, Then the fact that it is an on-card auto, Wow, What a Gemm!. Thanks for the share. Take it easy, Mahalo & GOD bless. emoticon Shaka

congrats on some very nice pickups!!

I think you are shorting one guy though in terms of MVP consideration.  Believe me I really hate to say this since the guy is on a rival team but you have to give atleast some consideration to Chris Johnson in Tennessee.  The Titans have changed up their game plan to go with about 55% run plays instead of the 35% they were running before, and since doing that, they're 5-0 and all of a sudden in the wildcard hunt after starting the season 0-6.  He's on pace to get very close to 2k yards this season too.  Gotta think he might have a shot at MVP.

anyways, again congrats on the nice pickups...look forward to seeing the updates!!

Supercollecting J.J. Watt, PM me if you have anything of him!
Also collecting Texans Autos, GU/EU, and low #'d inserts (/99 or less)

Am I supposed to be impressed with a 2nd string RC QB? I guess if you are creating a thread around it; oh well...to each their own and this yours, so good luck with it.

On the flip side, I really like that Manning On-Card Auto, but enjoy the Brees card a lot more! Great job! Brees doesn't sign much, so for you to have that card - sweeeeettt!!

Keep on collecting that Freeman guy and good luck!

I can't wait to see what you keep adding to this thread. Let us know and make sure they are nice cards, okay? Don't make me waste my time and come to this thread and not be impressed, cool?

Finally, congrats on that Player of the Day win! It's a nice one!!

Yup, this Brado guy doesn't budge on that one. At least, not till after the season when he's a regular season and Super Bowl MVP and his first Vikings auto will be worth double what it is now... Big Grin

Thanks for all the great comments everybody, I'll be updating the thread again in a few days as more mail comes in.

Okay, back again with this week's mail. It was a busy one, so I'll get right to it. Big Grin

First card is my only non-football pickup of the week. I know it doesn't belong here, but I'm excited about it so you all get to see it. emoticon

1958 Topps Mickey Mantle All Star PSA 3
[Image: Mantle.jpg]

This is hands down the best looking PSA 3 I've ever seen. If it wasn't for a small crease in one of the corners, this one would easily be a 5 or 6.

Now back to the football show. Big Grin

Those of you who read the first post in this thread saw that I promised another Colts QB auto. Well, I don't plan on disappointing. Here's the first ever certified auto from a Colts 1st Round draft pick and possessor of one of the strongest throwing arms in NFL history:

1993 Pro Line Jeff George auto (NFT)

Now that the laughs are out of the way, on to the real stuff.

Only two non-Josh Freeman cards to show this week. This one is my only non-Bucs card, and the only one I pulled. I busted the last 5 packs of Mayo my LCS had the other day and hit this:

2009 Topps Mayo Derrick Williams Auto
[Image: WilliamsMayo.jpg]

The lesson, as always, is to NEVER leave the last 5 packs in a box. Big Grin

Next up is my first Bucs card of the week. This guy has underperformed for the last few years, but I'm still a fan and I've got another dual auto from him coming next week:

2004 Upper Deck Reflections Michael Clayton/Devery Henderson Dual Endorsements auto
[Image: ClaytonHenderson.jpg]

Finally this week, we have the update to my ever-expanding Josh Freeman PC. I've been picking his stuff up left and right for fantastic prices and I'm in the market for anything anybody else has available. Big Grin

First is a basic RC:

2009 Upper Deck Philadelphia Josh Freeman RC
[Image: FreemanPhiladelphia.jpg]

Next is a basic auto:

2009 Donruss Elite Josh Freeman Turn of the Century auto #/200
[Image: FreemanTOTS.jpg]

Next is a true RC:

2009 Panini Rookies & Stars Josh Freeman RC auto #/139
[Image: FreemanRS.jpg]

Next is a very cool card from Gridiron Gear. I LOVE the throwback helmet piece on this card!

2009 Donruss Gridiron Gear Josh Freeman NFL Teams auto #/50
[Image: FreemanNFLTeams.jpg]

Finally, we come to the Donruss Limited portion of the mailday. First up is the cards that would have been my favorite of the week if the other one hadn't arrived today.

2009 Donruss Limited Josh Freeman Jumbo Patches 5/10
[Image: FreemanLimitedPatch.jpg]

The patch is the bottom of the 'M' from his nameplate, the card is his jersey number and 'M' is the 5th letter in "Freeman," so this is a TRIPLE eBay 1/1!!! Big Grin

And this week's last card is my favorite this week and top 3 in my Freeman PC. My only gripe is that they're not serial numbered this year, but oh well...

2009 Donruss Limited Josh Freeman Limited Slideshow film slide/auto
[Image: FreemanSlideshow.jpg]

And to show off the photo in the slide:

That'll wrap it up for this week. Next week, I'll have two more dual autos to show, including one that I think G Mo would be proud of, along with more film and who knows what else. Thanks again for the read and as always, comments are welcome!!! Big Grin
