The new Panini Prestige is a great first effort from the company as they take over the NBA license. The purchase of Donruss helped them use a formula that works well in football with Prestige as the first releases of the year.
It is a solid break that yields about 4 hits a box and Panini really went the extra mile and listended to collectors when they included ON CARD Autos!!! The base set it nice and clean and the jersey cards look great.
I look forward to the rest of their releases but I think they have put a lot of collectors at ease with a solid release to start.

Ok first off, I collect Prestige EVERY YEAR in Football and some in Baseball but to tell the truth I don't do alot in Basketball. But after seeing your first HISTORY BOX BREAK of the Panini Prestige Basketball I think I may have to go and get AT LEAST one box. The cards have GREAT photography on them of past players that you just don't get anymore. At first I though that all the autos were going to be stickers UNTIL I saw those two GREAT on card auto's! That's what got me~ON CARD AUTO'S! And I like the Draft Cards! I am a BIG Collector of Draft cards and these look to be a good addition to that collection! Over all, NOT being a big collector in Basketball I'll give this HISTORY BREAKING BOX BREAK a solid 10 and for the FIRST EVER PANINI BASKETBALL I'll give that a solid 10 also!$0Keeo up the great work guys!$0$0Thanks!$0Dave$0

Overall, I really feel like I have opened these cards before.  I would really like them to change the design and overall their brand.  The cards look nice, but a little boring.  Also, I would rather have less legends (although Walton with the beard is cool) and more current players.  The RC's are nice, but do not like the draft day look.  Really like the on the card auto.

I appreciate the fact that it isn't loaded with inserts and rainbow #'d.  I have always thought that was the easy way to go and like that the inserts will be harder to get.

I can honestly say I am kind of stuck in the middle on this product . At first I was a little upset that Upper Deck & Topps would no longer be producing all the NBA cards which I have come to love in the last almost twenty years . With that said though I will say it was a valiant effort by Panini , but i dont like the product thus far and here are some of the reasons why : 1 Single one color jersey swatches . 2 . Base cards are kinda boring . 3. Same roster UD & Topps have been using for the past decade . I love to see the HOF'S make there way into products especially for the new generation that never knew of them , but a lot of products have already ruined the players and their values on cards . For instance Dennis Rodman a all time favorite of mine but with the release of Topps signatures this year it drove his card values way down. The same goes for a lot of players as well as other products that have done the same . I know your thinking how does this relate to Panini cards right ? Well just in the simple fact here is basically the same roster and same players we have seen in so many products already . With all that being said though the things I do like about the new Panini Prestige is the fact that they were able to include a lot of the players who had recently traded to diferent teams and put them on the cards in their new uniforms . That within itself is a pretty awsome feat . Another great addition is that some of the Autographs are on card . Myself personally I hate stickers but I also understand the need for them . I really like the fact that this is a fresh new product from a fresh new buisness venture for Panini . I was fortunet enough to open a box yesterday and sad to say no Kobe Auto but none the less it somewhat brought me back to the grass roots of cards . Simplistic design but yet a very good start to what is sure to be full of suprises and awsome hits and a lot of upcoming rookie stars . One more great thing about the product is the Blake Griffin chase cards .

The main thing about the Panini box is that unlike Upper Deck, the cards are still affordable for most of us. The design is nothing different but maybe later.

There seemed to be a fair number of inserts and loved the autographs. I would have prefered a little better designs on the draft cards but there was nothing to turn me off on Panini.

Over-all it is pretty much as expected and I'll be buying a few boxes for sure.

No, doesn't look like a winner has been named.

I did this same thing for Beckett when UD Radiance came out and they said I won with some other guy and we both never got the "free autos", so we'll see if anything comes out of this one..
