G MO Wrote:Why I started collecting Barry Sanders. He is awesome, kind, and his cards tend to keep value, if not, increase in value. It all started back two years ago when I used to frequent a card shop. I used to just buy packs and boxes, which didn't tend to yield good cards for me. I went in one day and the owner told me, "Hey buddy, I'm closing the shop, so I wanted to give you a heads up on discounts before anyone else." So I took him up on this offer and purchased a Lions GAI certified Auto Jersey in blue for an awesome price.

After I purchased the Lions jersey; I decided to purchase his OSU jersey. I then started the hunt for his cards. The first 21 cards that I purchased of him led me to create this masterpiece. It's huge! The reason that I have those particular 21 cards in this frame is that they were the 1st 21 cards I purchased of him. 21 cards due to the number of his jersey 21.

The frame measures 55" x 44". There are 21 slots that can be easily replaced with other cards. It is behind plexiglass, black on white on orange suede. The job was EXTREMELY well done...I had to wait 4 weeks to get it done.

The value of the whole frame including the cards, jersey, and custom job is about 6k.

What do you think????

I left room in the bottom left corner of the frame for that REALLY special card. I am happy that I can change the cards whenever I feel like it.

Enjoy...

All I can say is WOW.

G Mo, the nice thing about your collecting style is it is closely related to my style and how I feel you should collect, at least from what I've seen.  I collect cards based on a goal or a vision, collecting a group of cards that really interests me or you are passionate about.  Then those cards should be framed and displayed so you can see or others can see your collection on display instead of the cards being stored away for nobody to view.

Your collection is an inspiration for other collectors.  I look forward to seeing your next framed cards.
