Someone paid 125K for a 1996 psa 10 woods si for kids card 10 years ago ? This can not be real. No way. A 21st century piece of cardboard, sold for 125 k. No way.

Is this rumor, even a documented (?) rumor, or is it true. Excuse the psa inquiry here, not on that message board (under?) .

Can the Shiek of Carddom, please confirm a 125k, for a 1996 card. Where is this card now.

Yes the first card graded psa 10 sold for a record PSA 10. The same seller who sold it just had a BGS 10 Jordan rc listed

I know. It is ridiculous to pay that much for a picture ripped out of a magazine. I don't see how anything with the perforated edges could get a 10.

I believe they consider them as extra paper. I had a 1961/62 Fleer Bill Russell I was hesitant about getting graded because of on edge that looked rough then someone from Beckett told me that it was in decent shape and the graders consider that as extra paper product.

Why are you suprised? Someon paid over $2,000,000 for a T206 Honus Wagner.

At least the Honus Wagner was a legitimate card. The Tigers Woods card was RIPPED out of a magazine. These are good cards for the player collector, but I do not think anything ripped out of a magazine should be graded. It would be like taking a picture of a card in a magazine, cutting it out, and sending it in to get graded.

I remember hearing about this card being graded during the invasion of the Gem Mints circa 2000. At the time, the various gem mint versions of this card were both "trimmed" and perforated, with the majority being professionally "trimmed" out of the original panels. Some third party businesses even popped up so that you could send in cards and have them trimmed. This trimming didn't deal with pack issue cards, obviously, but they dealt with uncut sheets, box bottom cards and more specifically, this Tiger Woods SI4K card.

Amazing what that little slab does for "collectibles". I bet 25% of the people who bought this Woods card in a slab, didn't know that it originally came from a kid's magazine. I wonder if I could slab the first strip of Goofus & Galant and see what that fetches?

Obviously they didn't rip it if it got a 10
