Yes there are cameras but is there people watching evary camera 24 hours a day? At my job we only review the video once we know there was/is a problem.

The cashier could of been short on change and the store was busy so they did it to get by?

Cashier don't know there short until the accounting clerk has counted and verified the cashiers till

I work at K-Mart for a summer job, and the money for charities and everything does go right in our tills. At the end of the day, the cash offices total how many were sold through the register and subtract it from the total money made in the day.



Except for K-Mart, it's documented how it's done by scanning the March of Dimes UPCs, the cash cages know that this was bought. For donations, it's a little different, as theres no way of documenting how much money should be in there, as you didn't key that information in.
