This should get me a lot of hate from a couple members here. Yep, downer Debbie MOD here once again to ruin the fun.
07mears07 Contests are always nice but this is the kinda thing that is seen not only as a contest, but more as promotion of a up-coming business. Give-aways of free stuff as incentives to create names etc for your company is not something that can fly here unfortunatly. It would be just like if "Wiser" or "StadiumSports" (who are both members here and are both card stores) decided to give a box away if they changed their stores name. They would get the attention of a ton of members by doing so thus promoting their names/business. You may ask "well I don't even have a business yet so how is this harming it?" Well, we all know that contests get a lot of views and posts. Once you have this contest run for a while, there will a big # of users here that will now know that you have/will have a online business and new trade site etc and thus you have promoted it. Moreover, asside from the sales part where you make $, promotion/discussion of other trade sites/fourms is not allowed here. I know that it is discouraged on other fourms I am a member of as well. I know everyone That is seen as spam and that has never been allowed. So ya, I get to be the bad guy again to all of the people here who think I don't allow people to "think outside of the box" or don't let "creativity" fly, but those are the rules. I hope you can understand where I am coming from. I lobied for contests to be run once again here when you guys asked and we got them back. This however was not the intent of said cintests. I think it is great that you are looking to start up a business but I have to shut this one down. No suspension, no hard feelings I hope. Greg |
