NFL | Henry suspension update
Sat, 14 Jun 2008 05:51:00 -0700

Updating a previous item, The Associated Press reports free-agent WR Chris Henry (Bengals) has been suspended indefinitely by the National Football League pending the outcome of his trial scheduled for June 24. Henry faces charges of assault and criminal damage. A man accused Henry of punching him in the face and breaking his car window with a beer bottle. If Henry is acquitted, the suspension could be lifted, according to his agent Marvin Frazier. If Henry is convicted, he faces at least a one-season suspension under the league's conduct policy.

Man, this guy has had many chances to get his act together. Some players don't appreciate the opportunity they have to play int he NFL.

He is very talented, but not many teams are going to want him if he can't stay out of trouble. I guess some players fail to realize that.

When will he learn? He's slowly pushing towards a long, long suspension. The sad part is that Henry has the potential to be a #1 receiver.

Like quite a few other players, the warning signs were all there coming out of college. I am truly surprised some teams choose to overlook all of these run ins with the law and expect things to be different when you add millions of dollars to the equation. Most college problem children become NFL problem children.

Hopefully he is not let back into the league. It's better off without losers like him.

This means that either the Raiders or the Cowboys will pick him up after his suspension runs out.
