Yanks vs. Sox Offical Thread
You know who used to complain about the calls umpires made in a series in July?
Red Sox fans in 1998. Granted, I heard the game on the radio today, and you can't trust Joe Costig's eyesight anymore (he thought A-Rod was hit on the hand), and everything said in this thread about every call could be 100% correct. But 1998 Yankees fans would never have mentioned it. Just an observation. |

And yes, the Yankees stole Nady and Marte. Stop downplaying it, y'all got a great deal. Not just because you gave up nothing, but also because you paid WAY less than market value for 2 of the top guys on the block. Like I've said before, the Rockies are asking for at LEAST Buccholz in a deal for Fuentes. The Yankees didn't give up anyone in the same stratosphere as Clay, yet still managed to get not one but TWO of the top guys. All that said, the Sox need to stop worrying about whether or not their right fielder is going to play and start playing some ball. 3 runs in two games? Way to show up for the biggest series of the year to date, especially at home. |

My point was we have spent threads discussing guys who shouldn't even be in the discussion that is being talked about. Where at least Girardi is in the manager of the year discussion, not free bsahing, just an example, we had like 5 pages on varitek for HOF, where that discussion is a joke to have. |

No bump???
Red Sox finally have some good offense tonight. Only Drew doesn't have a hit but all have been on base which is sweet. Gotta love good offense. Ellsbury has been hitting tonight!!! ![]() Lester is pitching well too, only one jam but only let up 2 runs so far. GO RED SOX! ![]() Btw - I'm going to the Red Sox game vs. The A's a week from tonight (Sunday the 3rd I believe)...By any chance does anyone know who I will see pitch??? |

I couldn't find the post otherwise I would have bumped it earlier. I had a rant regarding the Manny and Lester love-fest but I got over it.
Also let me add Bye Bye Ponson |

But I am not sure of many guys who have been better than him since he got his command figured out. And wow, if Varitek and Ellsbury are hitting, there's no way this team can lose. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen often  Lastly, it was certainly a relief to see Ponson tonight. After watching 2 straight days of every pitch going directly to the target, I was ecstatic to see how many of his pitches missed

9-2 Sox....Much needed win because the Rays lost today.
