MY HURRICANE KATRINA REPLACEMENT COLLECTION (SAINTS)
duch2izback Wrote:Delder, was that New Orleans East you were in? I'm trying to figure out where your neighborhood is. I lucked out from Katrina, as I live in River Ridge. Unfortunately, the air conditioner located above my ceiling in my storage closet leaked water from the tiles for almost a week until I caught it yesterday. I ended up losing eight 5,000 count boxes of stuff, as well as all my Star Wars board games, many of which I never had the chance to play. Good news is that I had enough sense to not store my LSU and Saints and PC stuff in that room, but alas, a number of sets, commons, and all my hockey are gone. Oh well.

PM your address to me.

You were close at guessing but i live in St.bernard Parish---chalmette. Sucks about the a/c leak....I feel for you buddy especially since you never even had the chance to get to yet to enjoy them games

That would have been my second guess. I had two friends who lived in Chalmette, and ended up moving back because they missed the area. They have rebuilt and are back home. Unfortunately, one of them had a stroke a couple of weeks ago, brought on by the IRS and the Road Home garbage he had to go through, but he is on his way to recovering.

The reason I asked you where you were from is because I spent a good bit of time in N.O. East once the water went down, and I guess since you and I have been around it so much, it started to look the same everywhere: mud, mold, destruction. I just hope no one else has to go through that again. I was lucky, but a lot of my friends weren't, and I was there to do what I could to help many months afterwards.

Yea you do get use to it it just was everywhere.I'm sorry to hear about your friend..Mentally it is too hard to handle. For some worse than others.Me too i had a break down, The human mind just can only handle so much shock I guess.I mean you know how tough it was you said you had a couple friends from here but I am glad to hear that he is recovering well now. And yes Road Home is a mess and FEMA sucks more like Federal Emergency Might Arrive! But then again you might just be waiting on your roof top and just wave to the president as he flyes by when he is finished with his golf game....lol
