Dream Lineup With A Twist
I want to know everyone's dream lineup that would cost the most money to field and result in the worst record.
Here are my choices: 1st: Ryan Howard ($10 million) 2nd: Jeff Kent ($9 million) 3rd: Adrian Beltre ($13.4 million) Catcher: Paul Lo Duca ($5 million) SS: Miguel Tejada ($14.8 million) LF: Carlos Lee ($12.5 million) RF: Magglio Ordonez ($15.8 million) CF: Bobby Abreu ($16 million) Starter 1: Barry Zito ($14.5 million) Starter 2: Paul Byrd ($7.5 million) Starter 3: Matt Morris ($10 million) Starter 4: Carlos Silva ($8.3 million) Starter 5: A.J. Burnett ($13.2 million) Total Salary: $150 million Total Wins: Man, 55 maybe? All salaries taken from ESPN.com Can anyone make a worse/more expensive team? |

Add Carl Pavano $10 M to SP, and Giambi is $22 million at 1B Also take burnett out and put in hampton, also mulder, how much does he make? Lee and Abreu aer expensive but still produce, how about David Roberts, and Andrew Jones. |

Ryan Howard makes that team too good. I would repalce him with Sexson if he has not been cut yet.

Sure, he'll jack a few out of the park, but he isn't doing much else. With those pitchers, the team would need to score at least five a game. That's a lot of homeruns for my lineup. His 102 strikeouts is pretty impressive for only 74 games played. Howard stays right where he is for my team. EDIT: I didn't look at Sexson for this year before I typed. Holy smokes. That's very little output for so much money. Maybe I put Howard on my bench and start Sexson LOL |

I would take magglio out of that lineup and put in sheffield. Also what about delgado? I sure he makes a boatload of cash.

Howard makes that team too good, definitely agree with that statement - put Delgado in.
Bobby Abreu is one of the best situational hitters right now, he can, as Willie Keeler put it, "hit it where they ain't" - put Andruw in for him, even though he's a CF. Tejada's alright I guess, but noone's worse than him at a high salary? EDIT: And Paul Byrd at $7.5 mil doesn't seem outrageous at all. Carl Pavano is pretty suspect at his salary though  . |
