There was no 'thing', teams have to move on. I think if they hadn't done it then, it would have ended up something like the Favre thing. They let him stay longer and Young moves on and then who would the qb have been? We got back to back HOFers - not many teams can say that. Just my opinion tho.

i think i almost passed out there. montana is still by far the greatest but he wasnt getting the job done anymore. young stepped in and helped us win again. you gotta like any player that wore the colors. even if it was for just a year.

Awesome Willis auto card.  I was too young when they traded out Montana for Young to remember the politics of it I just remember the change.  Well I have some new additions so here they are.  Still looking anywhere and everywhere for the Steve Young and Roger Craig Rare remnants 3.
