Team Collectors Thread - June 2008
Well, I'll be the first to admit I'm a guilty party of both offenses. I haven't posted thank yous were they are due nor have I mailed out recently. I have numerous packages all made up already but just haven't made the trip to the post office yet. While you didn't intend to call anyone out, point is taken and I'll fix that.

While it's not an excuse per say but my budget was also cut into over the weekend as some tool hit and run my g/f's car in a parking lot. Gotta love people with no morals or decency to stop and own up to their mistake. However if they got hit and someone took off and didn't leave any contact info, they be pissed, it's weird. Luckily it's not major damage but it's going to be $500 out of pocket that wasn't planned.

Anyways, it's 1, so it's lunch time.. bbq sounds sooo good right now.

Jaycob,
Well said. Again, I am not so worried about the folks that send infrequently. The one's that do keep me with more Red Sox cards than I can ever enter into my collection. I know that with the cost of gas, food, etc...on the rise, people can not send on a regular basis. That is perfectly OK. But if you are not going to send, not going to thank people and not post, they why be part of the group?

Sometimes I worry about our other activity on Nimster's site. It seems that is when we have our most participation on either site. While I enjoy the "event", I enjoy the stories, the sharing and the group even more. These things go in cycles. I am not worried, just thought it was time to put a little push on some people. I will watch the activity during the new month. As a HOF member, I feel it is my duty to protect the group. If anyone has a concern or suggestion to improve our group, send me a PM or email. Or if you are comfortable with it, post it on here.

Wayne

Very nice Barry! Got him trained early! Looks all the players really like to sign for him because he is so young. Do you tell him the players names or does he just say "Hey Mister!" [/quote ]
I don't tell him any names , he asks [ no hey mister] and says thank you . he doesn't like conrad the crawdad . they let small kids chase Conrad across field in 7th inning , he's ex marine [ extra pun] so they can't cattch up with lead he gets .

Also, this is not directed at anyone in particular, but I was wondering if several packages have been received over the past few weeks. It seems to me that the courtesy of a Thank You is becoming less and less prevalent. Anyone else feeling this way? I have seen a few, but I know that there were a bunch that should have been delivered that I have not heard about.

With a new month coming up, I think we need to do a roll call and make sure all is present an accounted for. I have noticed some of the group is becoming less and less active, both in posting and sending. I can understand the sending part as costs for everything is going up, but this group is also about the comraderie we have. Stop by and say hello. It is free to do so! If you can't make it onto the site at least once a month to say hello, then maybe it is time to move on?

Happy Monday everyone!

Wayne

I received a nice package from Randy and Tramers over the weekend, plus SEVERAL ebay wins that will get divided up soon (Zumaya auto? Don't we have a player collector of him on here Big Grin ). Anyways Randy sent about 33 Braves team sets from that thing- anyone need a Braves set? Tramers sent a slew of Henry Aarons (reprints of course) But you've got to love the vintage photos.

If we're doing a roll call..................... Braves tier 1 checking in, lol
Thanks guys

Cool John!! Thanks a ton. I've had to cut back on the buying alittle lately.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY THOM!!

I got a nice package form Tony C today, he included many new cards for the PC! Verlander GU, and a 1959 Topps Vintage 2008 Topps heritage Loe Berberet!! Those two cards alone have made my day!! Thanks Tony! You should have a nice package on the way from me?

Wow...this is awesome. Anyone join the Oakland A's yet? If not, I am very down for this. I have far too many good singles of other teams and would love my team. LMK...
