I hope you are enjoying this pleasant June night. Hot and muggy in northern Virginia, sultry. But that's D.C. in the summer. I'm helping take a group from Walter Reed to the Orioles game on July 4. A big day in baseball with its league-wide salute to the troops.

You are the man! I appreciate you recycling your toploaders. I put them to good use. I am looking forward to your special package too. Congrats on your daughter getting her PHD. That is quite an achievement. She is ready to rule the world! It is one thing I thought about doing and never pursued. I like to think I have done well with my BA from Wesleyan, but always wonder what I could do with a Masters or PhD.

I can't wait until September to get to shake your hand and give you a big hug. You have become a great friend and we have never even met.


I hope a lot of the TC's can meet up that weekend. It should be a great weekend.

I am getting back from my softball game tonight. Only went 3-3 with a BB and two HR's! I was on tonight. Well, I just got my steak off the grill, have the NBA draft on the TV and about to enjoy my last night of being a bachelor!

Anyone watch the NBA draft? Not much baseball tonight so I was flipping back from the Indians game also. I'm a big Cavs and Browns fan despite not really collecting them although I think with any extras this group has sent me I may start...

So, Wayne, who were the teams that members were interested in? I know a few days ago you said a few members have expressed interest and I was curious what teams they were? I have about 3500 cards of the teams not represented and would like to move some of them!

Well, the Brewers guy just emailed me tonight. He is passing for now as he fears he might be laid off from work. He did not want to make the financial committment. There was a guy interested in the Tigers, but we already have two collectors.

I watched some of the draft, waiting to see who the Celtics selected. I know nothing about the player they selected.

Hi Everyone
Thom, congrats on your daughter's accomplishment.
I am now 5/12 classes completed (OK plus my dissertation) for my Ed D which is a Doctorate in Education and my certificate to be a full fledged superintendent. I can attest to the hard work.

Hope all are well on this Thursday Night.
No work for me tomorrow.
Hope to catch up on my responsibilities to the group this weekend.

Morning all-

TGIF!!! Man, its been a tough week. My main person I have working for me was out on vacation, so I had my desk full this week. Glad its almost over! She gets to return the favor to me in a few weeks when I get out of here for a week! Cant wait for that.

I think we found a photographer for the wedding. Going to be a bit pricier than I would have liked, but I know we are getting good quality, and I think that is important with wedding pictures more than anything. They offered us 10% off of the prices they quoted us this weekend, and that made the difference. Cool thing is that all deposits are fully refundable until 30 days before the wedding, so if we found someone else we liked better, we can always cancel (was really surprised they would do that!)

Wayne - got your bet payoff in the mail yesterday, and it will go out this weekend. I am 99.99% sure you dont have it already, and I think you and your son will enjoy it.

Nim - Got started on sorting some cards this weekend, and I am going to finish this weekend. I have been accumulating some things over the past few months, so I think it will give you quite a bit to send out to the group. It should go out this weekend as well. Sorry I havent gotten you a package in awhile.

Well I am out... need to get a few things done before i leave early today for my first wedding in the next 15 days (yes, you read that right)....at least this one is on Friday...LOVE Friday weddings...doesnt kill your whole Saturday!

Managed to get 3 packages together this morning and in the mail. So the Royals, Mariners and Cubs collectors should be on the lookout early next week.

It is really hot out today. Made a Costco run. I love that place! Spent more than I should as usual. Go in for dog food, come out with $200 of who knows what? Too bad they don't sell baseball cards.

Good afternoon everyone,

Hope everyone has plans for the weekend. I have the cable guy coming in tomorrow. My picture on my HDTV keeps going in and out and at times I get a no signal screen on my TV. I called the cable company and the lady there claims that the service should be fine. After he leaves, the rest of the day is card day. I will get more packages ready to go out and I sorrrreely need to organize my own. Sunday I will be taking in a Staten Island Yankees game. They will be playing the Aberdeen Iron Birds. Nice chance to see the future Yankees players.

Wayne, if COSCO carried cards, I think we'd all be broker than broke :lol:
