Team Collectors Thread - June 2008
So had a couple of cool pick ups this weekend.
First was a eB*y pickup that was very reasonable - I guess I was feeling jealous of Mike's good fortune with the Spectrum break, so I went looking for an Utley insert and found a GU /50. The seller was actuall selling 5 GU /50 of asst players - so I went for the Utey and got these in the bargain:

So: Jaycob, John, Wayne, Eric are the lucky beneficiaries....

Second pick up was a blaster box of TriStar Projections - not normally something I would buy, but the local sporting goods chain (Modell's) sells cards (at very high retail prices). The 7 pack Tri Star was priced at $24.99 - BUT I had a 10% off coupon and a $20 voucher - so, with tax, I got the box for about 4 bucks. The one (guaranteed) auto was the Hamilton (01/25 !!), so James I'm sending it off to you. He seems lie a decent prospect, but having some control problems with the West Michigan Whitecaps.

That's all the news from my little corner of the world. Be good everybody.

Are you still having a problem?A while ago I couldn't get Nim's board to load at all.I had to go into control panel, internet options, delete cookies(this is with Windows of course) then restart my computer before it would finally load again.

Thanks Dave! That Papi looks sweet....

I noticed with Sports Authority (very similar to Modell's) sells blasters as well and they are $5.00 more than the Targers and Wal-Marts. I wonder why?

I saw Topps Chrome comes out later this month. More Youkilis cards to go after. They are going with Copper this year instead of blue. I thought the Red and Blue parallels from lasts years sets were nice looking. They still have the red, but that version is #'d to 25.

If anyone wants the checklist, it is on Blowoutcards web site.

Mets Tier two checking in for June.... from Manila!

I just arrived a couple of hurs ago. 15 hours from Atlanta to Seoul and another 4 from Seoul to Manila. It's 2:50 am over here, exactly 12 hours ahead of EST so it's June 3rd over here. I left at 10:30 am on Sunday, June 1st! Talk about traveling into the future!! I'll be here for two months so hopefully I'll find some time to check in on the thread.

Hope everybody is having a good day!

Muchos thanks, Dave. Enjoy first place Smile I actually picked up a J-Roll minor league card this weekend that will be going out soon (although it's not nearly as sweet as the Chipper, but it's shiny, lol)

******XMAS in July******

We did this last year with success and wanted to gauge interest again. Please let me know if interested and will make assignments by drawing names.

What is it? I will draw a name of Tier 1 or 2 team collector-we send them something nice-I think we agreed on bv of twenty. Want to get this started early as I have noticed longer ship times on the bay lately.
