Team Collectors Thread - July 2008
Hi TCs:
I have been spending the evening trying to get some packages/boxes ready for this weekend or next week. About half of you will be getting something from me soon. Not much, I'm afraid, but you may find the stuff useful. You never know..... FEAR FORECAST: Cardinals trade Brendan Ryan, Anthony Reyes and Brad Thompson to the Orioles for Sherrill and Roberts. Cards may also pick up Gardano sp?) from Texas for a minor leaguer. Also they sign Renteria when he's released by Detroit. What do you think Randy? Man the Brewers have been beating us up. |

tlwnlin Wrote:Hi TCs: I would love the first trade to happen but Gudardo from Texes is about 80 and has the body of a 90 year old. Plus they want Jess Todd and he is to good for another reliever who cant pitch. Havent heard of Renteria being released but wouldnt mind him over Izturus. I was compleatly against signing Izturus in the first place. |

One name that I have recently read about, and one of the few people I wouldnt mind if they traded Rasmus for is Roy Halliday. The Blue Jays say they are not looking to trade him but some have said he is quitely being shoped to a few teams including the Cards. I dont think he will be traded but he would look nice in Cardinal Red. With all of his complete games we wouldnt have to look for bullpen help.
Halliday Carpenter Wainwright Lohse Whoever That would be nice if they were all healthy |

Team Collectors Thread - July 2008
Yesterday and today brought some wonderful mail from across this great country of ours.
Nimster, John G. and Billy have helped add many cool cards to the PC. Shiny refractors, game used pin-striped goodness, and an asst of Phillies: Phast and Phurious from days of yore. (Or should that be Phalling Phast - as in "welcome to 2nd place...") After Tuesday's amazing comeback it's hard to fathom how a team can just play dead.... Anyway, thank you gentlemen. Have a great TGIF everyone! |

Good MAENing TCs:
Welcome to a glorious weekend. Well, almost. I'm up early 'cause I woke up really early. I'm thrilled because both my darling daughters are coming home tomorrow. I haven't seen the new Ph.D. in the family in 18 months. I wonder if she's grown.... It's been a nice three weeks alone with the Lovely Linda. She is just one terrific lady. I'm thankful for every day with her. She's so funny and I love to play with her like we were kids. She's the kind of person who's always surprised about everything. I got to show off a little of my Cardinals collection last night. That was fun. And I just can't wait to get some stuff off to you guys. Billy, thank you for the package, but remember I'm retired now. I'll send you something neat in return. But our new buddy, Randy, is the Cardinals guy now. Of course, I'm not opposed to getting "goodies" every now and then. Cardinals. Shoot. Another 9th inning loss. I'm dying here guys. Now we get the Mets and Atlanta. If we don't get some relief help soon, I will just turn purple when we play the Cubs. I still like the possible Baltimore trade. And yeah Randy, if we could get Halladay, I would give up Colby. But he's hurt, and probably out for the season. So that ain't gonna work. By the way, don't you love Miles. All the best, Ironman |
