Great!! When it gets closer we can make arrangements on where to meet. Can't wait!! As crazy as it may sound, I can't wait to get on a plane again. The last time I flew was probably 7 years ago. I love traveling, and I haven't had a real vacation for over 3 years. Woo Hooo!!! Look out Chi-town. Here I come!

Just getting a chance to post. The boys from Southington were on tonight. We started slow, down 5-1 after 3 innings. Then the bats came to life and we won 11-5. My son had another 4 RBI's tonight. 2 more hits, a sacrifice fly and a walk. That is 8 RBI's and 7 hits in 3 games. We are now playing in the State tournament that starts this weekend. The boys tried to dump a bucket of ice water on me. Fortunately I saw them coming up and only got a little of the bucket on me! There were lots of digital camera's there tonight. I should have some pics for you soon. Me and my assistant coaches took them out for pizza following the game. That is why I am getting home so late.

I got the final piece to my SS gift. That should go in the mail in the next day or two.

Hamilton tired out. Justin Mourneau is your new HR Derby champion.

Wayne

EDIT:
As promised, here is a shot of us after the game with our plaque, showing everyone who is #1! I am the tall guy in the back and my son is in the back row, just to the left of my arm.

I'm up for a late night post as well... I went to my first Mahoning Valley Scrappers game tonight. It is the Indians Late Season A team and had a great time! They won 12-3 and I again got another game used broken bat! They player told me no the first time but then saw me again and decided to give it to me! Very cool!

Wayne congrats to you and your boys! Thats pretty awesome!

Tony C. glad you got the package and good to hear your passing the collecting tradition on to your son!

i guess i should say goodmorning haha pretty late
I went to the A's vs Angels game on sunday...it was a great game though i would have liked to see the A's win being they are my second favorite team
I sat right behind the Angels bullpen, they are some great guys, sure are a funny bunch, ive never seen such talkative players, Justin Speir practically jumped out of the bullpen every inning and was giving kids high fives and yellin back at the hecklers it was great fun, i got some pretty good pictures of some of the pitchers warming up i will hopefully get those up later

hope everyone is doing well

Nimster Wrote:John, I wanted to tell you that I haven't forgot about our little wager between the Braves and Angels. I have your bounty ready and just need to get it to the post office.

 I forgot!!! It slipped my mind that the Braves actually won a series, lol

What a show last night, wow. I thought a few that Josh hit were going to leave Yankee Stadium all together. I was telling my Mom the story about him afterwards and she thought it was great coming back from all the adversity! It was nice to be able to sit and watch the derby for a while... plus I got packages ready!!! I'll post who they are going to later (I forgot!)

Dave, if you get this and have the time to stop in VA (if you're driving) let me know and we'll catch up for an adult beverage or something to that extent. Thom, one of these days when i'm going through your neck of the woods I'll let you know the same

Have a good day everyone, and go NL tonight! Big Grin

Good MAENing!

Congrats on the win Wayne.I had a feeling they would get the W last night.

Wow Hamiltons first round was something to watch and it was cool he used his 71 year young Legion coach, whos earm must have been getting pretty tired.Josh hit more but Justin hit them when they counted. On to the All-Star game tonight!

I got the last item for my xmas in July package yesterday and it went in the mail yesterday as well as some other packages.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

I hope someday to be the coach that one of my ex players calls upon to pitch to them in a HR Derby! I have quite the reputation around town about my ability to pitch BP to the kids. I am consistent with throwing strikes and at a decent speed for the kids. I also have a rubber arm and I am able to do it several days in a row!

Thanks for the well wishes. I will keep you posted of our progress once the State tournament begins this weekend.

Wayne
