Topps Vs Upper Deck round 2?

Topps Vs Upper Deck round 2?
One of my distributers stoped in today and told me that Topps wants any Upper Deck product with the Yankee Stadium Legacy cards in it to also be recalled and not sold as there are a few of the players on there exclusive list in there as well. That would make any baseball from this year by Upper Deck dead in the water. I have a call into another distributer to confirm this and will keep updating as I hear.

I just got the call, It is Upper Deck series 2 that the injunction is on. Seems there are Johnny Mize items in there and he is on the list. Distributers can not sell any boxs of Upper Deck series 2.

I love this for one reason:

Topps has always been very awesome about allowing custom card makers to use their designs for personal use, but UD has threatened action against anyone that uses their designs for custom cards.

Now they turn around and put players on their cards that they don't have the legal right to use. Too funny.

I hope Topps buries UD and Donruss can come back. Yes, Donruss killed me with their 1000 parallels per set, but at least their cards were actually IN THE PACK. Not to mention super customer service.

Fantastic post. Thank you for your insight.

Upper Deck series 2 has been added to the injunction and any distributers with the product may not sell it as of this morning. I just got off the phone with my rep at Sports Images.

Ok Steve. If an injunction has been filed it is a matter of public record. Show us.

This is from a 3rd party web site. A story much like it is in Beckett's own archive. I'd like you to show me where it says a distriutor has to return or isn't allow to sell these products. Hint, it doesn't exist.

Upper Deck has publicly acknowledged that there is a lawsuit. If Topps says it exists, Upper Deck says it exists, and most sports card news sources say it exists guess what it's status is?

Hint: It exists.

Oh, and if that isn't good enough, how about The Orlando Sentinel and The Boston Globe reporting it?

Hint: It really does exist.

I had a whole long thing written but I cleared it out. No need to speek to the deaf.
