Which is more sturdy, a BGS holder or a 1/2 Screwdown holder(non graded)

I would say a BGS.  Have you seen the demo of the abuse that a BGS can withstand?  Plus, I had a card get damaged in a 4-screwdown.

Recently while away on business, my house flooded, not much an inch of water.

My box of cards in semi rigid holders waiting to be graded was on the floor. Thankfully it was found by someone that was home and put higher as the water was coming in, saving the cards. My 2 boxes of BGS graded cards that I had just received the previous week were not put up higher as the boxes were unnoticed.

Long story short, the boxes were absolutely ruined by the water. When I got home I seen the 2 soaked boxes, knowing I had 40 graded cards in there. I grabbed the first box and it just gave away and out spilled 20 BGS cases, wet, but the cards inside untouched! The 2nd box, also ruined, but all cards completely unharmed. I dried off the cases with a towel and my collection looks fine and dandy.

Because of BGS cases my valuable cards were protected from a flood.

I was just wondering if Beckett replaces damaged slabs.  I received my cards to day and one of them has a big chip on the bottom front.

Yes they do.  I think it costs five bucks a card.  But they may replace for free providing you paid for Insurance; I think.

If you got your grading order back from Beckett and a slab was damaged you can send it back to get it re slabbed for free.  Only problem is you have to pay to send it back and forth...so you could send it in with another order.

Also you should email them, let them know about the card and such and include the emails just to help prevent problems.

You're so fast to point out that I'm wroung I guess your brain didn't comprehend the part that you yourself copied.  You know, the part at the end of my Original Statement where I say that Beckett may replace for free providing that he pays for Insurance.  I guess you missed that part.

I actually received a call back from Beckett and like 952Melvin said I can send the card back and they will reslab for free.  I do have to pay for the shipping so it is going back with my next order.  Thanks for all of the input.
