Does trading today compete with Ebay?!?!?!?!
Alright, here's my dilemna and question as brief as possible.  Here are some recent box breakdowns for example so you can see where I'm coming from.

These breakdowns do not include insert cards.

Total Unique cards not including inserts 478
Total Doubles +600

Here's the dilemna or question.  I don't need doubles.  Not even if I like or love the player.  I would love to trade or sell my doubles.  My collection, while not complete online yet, is around cards, almost if not more than of them being doubles.  I know most card shops won't buy them from me because they also have no use for them.  I also don't know many people that are willing to trade simple cent and cent cards?  There are sets that I'm only missing a few cards and they are simple base cards, but I don't want to pay for them, I'd rather trade.

I could be completely blind to some things on here, but if anyone can give me suggestions or solutions, I'm more than open to them.  Thanks.

Maybe you guys could start a set building thread.  People could list the sets they need or it could be done visa versa. ya dig

That's actually a good idea, it's really difficult finding those base set singles on eBay or anywhere unless it's an exquisite base card

Well, I'm actually in the process of working on that.  I'm still trying to go one card by one card and making sure that I know what cards I do and do not have.  I have started putting my cards into pages again (when I was younger, I didn't know how to do this properly).  There are some sets that I don't have enough to put in the pages yet, not reasonably financially at least, but I'm working on it.  It's trying to get the time from the end of work, playing with my son, making dinner, spending time with my family, and getting adequate rest.

I do like the idea of the thread though.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to best do this?

Also, as an update, I decided to call that local shop and see if they were even willing to trade their doubles (since they say they have millions of cards) with my doubles for the ones that I need and they said yes.  However, at the time, when on the phone with them, I didn't specify that I don't have high end doubles, just pretty much low end.  I sent them an email and I'm waiting for them to get back to me whether or not they're willing to trade low end for low end?

I'm going to start a new post in each of the collections that I find I'm missing cards.  I believe that they should show up in this discussion board (being basketball) and if you guys see any cards that I need and are willing to trade, maybe we can make an arrangement.  Mind you, I'm very particular about my collecting.  I solely touch them on the sides of the cards or with gloves, I won't touch the face or back unless in a sleeve or page.  If you're the same way, I'm more than willing to trade.  Otherwise, it'd have to be in really really really good condition.

Thanks.

P.S.  Most of my collections are public so you should be able to see which ones I'm missing.  Thanks.
