Tips for organizing thousands of cards sought
We recently were given well over 100 large card boxes of sports and collectable cards. I have no idea where to begin with the organization (other than by sport/subject). But then what do I look for? These are complete sets from the 1980's and 1990's and cover all sports (I am guessing) plus I saw cards for desert strorm and other things. I know there are dozens and dozens of multiples as well. Is this a good thing?
I've also learned that the boxes are not correctly labeled <sigh> so every box must be opened and sorted. Many were labeled as hockey but are, instead, football. Also, some of the cards have autographs. There was no one at our local shop interested in doing anything at all to help me figure out what I have. Some of the clients told me about this site and that's why I'm here. If you know anyone who lives in the central Arizona region who might be interested in a project like this, please let me know how to contact them... or have them drop me an email off-list directly at RainfireStables@msn.com. I'd happily trade some of the cards for help selling all of them! We could do it here, but I have NO clue how to get started or what I'm looking for. HELP, PLEASE... and Thanks! --Whendie Johnston Rainfire Stables |

Tips for organizing thousands of cards sought
I suggest by separating by individual sports.
Then go to the next step-separate by Players last name A thru Z. Then put all the Stars together ( Jordan -L.James-P.Pierce-Shaq--D.Wade-C.Anthony-by last name-Then if something happens in the Market you will be able to locate your Player Cards to resale or trade. Jordan is being Nominated this April for the Hall of Fame and I hope to sell a few cards-Jordan Basketball and Baseball.Hope this helps.Goldstar Sports-100,000 plus cards needed to alphabatized still. Put all cards in penny sleeves a couple of years ago, Cost a fortune. |

Tips for organizing thousands of cards sought
I would suggest (though very time consuming) to sort each set by year and brand, put them in number order and then you can upload each set into your organize one by one, marking the cards that you have.
I have been doing this with my collection with the ultimate goal of eventually loading every signle card I own. I have found some time saving tips when adding by set.
