I am always glad when a dog story has a happy ending.

What was left out of the original post was that the dog is going to start collecting Mordecai Brown cards. :-)

Thats awesome news man! I had a similar situation my pug had a tumor and we removed it 6 months ago but he got sick again(diabetes) 3 months ago and he bounced back, then he got super sick three weeks ago and I had to put him down, my first animal with my two children(explained death ect ect) it was horrible, so it makes me happy to see someone else doing well, and I'll pray for you and your friend.

He doesn't even have to lift his leg to pee now.

Glad he's doing alright. I know how torn up you've been about him.

As a Veterinarian I think you made the right decision. If there is no evidence of metastisis, then amputation is a very viable option. Animals are amazing in that they adjust very well to amputation. After awhile he will be running around as if he was on all four. It is more of an adjustment for owners than it is for your dog.

Take Care

Glad to hear your dog is doing well Jon.
I've had pets my entire life and can understand how attached one can become to them.
Anyways, thanks for the update.
Oh and I just sent you a PM.
Take care buddy!
David
